JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Edwin Rosario, 31, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Officers responded at 9:45 p.m. on Thursday to the intersection of West Eighth and Cherry streets. Rosario refused to comply with officers’ verbal commands and allegedly fled the scene. Rosario was found in the back yard of a residence on Valley Street and taken into custody. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.

¯ HANOVER — Celeste Swietlik, 90, of Blasdell was charged with failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign. Deputies responded Thursday at 2:50 p.m. to Alleghany Road for a two-vehicle crash with injury. An investigation found that Swietlik allegedly failed to yield the right of way after stopping at a stop sign, causing the crash. Swietlik and the operator of the other vehicle were transported to Lakeshore Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Swietlik is scheduled to appear in Hanover Town Court later.

¯ SHERMAN — An 18-year-old male was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and fifth-degree arson. Deputies responded Thursday at 9:10 p.m. to the village of Sherman for a report of a burning building. An investigation found that an 18-year-old male reportedly set the hand sanitizer dispenser on fire inside the outhouse in the park. The male is scheduled to appear in Sherman Town Court later.
