CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ WESTFIELD — Rachel A Blanchard, 37, of Westfield was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal contempt, fourth-degree criminal mischief and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Deputies took Blanchard into custody Monday in the town of Westfield for multiple warrants. She was allegedly found to be in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine and was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.

¯ WESTFIELD — Edward Wood, 49, of Westfield was charged with first- and second-degree criminal contempt, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Martha Burdick, 59, of Mayville was charged with two counts of second-degree criminal contempt. The pair was charged following an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office. Both were issued tickets to appear in Westfield Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Naim D. Smith, 22, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and third-degree criminal possession of weapon. Officers were flagged down Tuesday at 12:15 a.m. on West Sixth Street. An investigation found that Smith allegedly grabbed another person by the throat and applied pressure. Smith then broke the person’s phone so she could not call police. Smith was located hiding behind a house on West Sixth Street and taken into custody after reportedly resisting arrest. Smith was being held for arraignment.
