CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ IRVING — Rickie L. Ecker, 29, of Silver Creek was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Deputies on Monday at 6 p.m. located two small children in the middle of the road on Routes 5 and 20 with no parent or guardian around. An investigation found that Ecker had allegedly left the children unsupervised. She is scheduled to appear in Hanover Town Court later.
¯ POLAND — Glen H. Leffew, 26, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI with a BAC of 0.18% or greater and moving from lane unsafely. Deputies were called Monday at 11:16 p.m. to a suspicious situation on Route 394 in the town of Poland. It was learned that Leffew reportedly lost control of his motorcycle and laid the bike down on the shoulder of the road. Leffew was later found to be intoxicated. He was released with tickets to appear in Poland Town Court later.
¯ SHERMAN — Raymond M. Near, 59, of Westfield was charged with DWI, DWI per se, speed in 55 mph zone and failure to keep right. Deputies were south on Clymer Sherman Road Monday at about 12:54 p.m. when they were passed by a vehicle traveling 94 mph in a 55 mph zone. An investigation found that Near was in an intoxicated state. He was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Samantha K. Kitchen, no age or address listed, was charged with petit larceny. Police say Kitchen entered Walmart on Monday and allegedly took $979.28 worth of merchandise without paying. She is scheduled to appear in Busti Town Court later.
