City Man Jailed After Incident

A Jamestown man who held a woman at knifepoint Saturday is facing a host of charges.

Police took 37-year-old Peter D. Rosado into custody after first responding around 9 a.m. to a West Eighth Street residence for a report of a person with a weapon. When on scene, officers learned Rosado was allegedly holding a woman at knifepoint in a hostage situation.

“Officers negotiated with Rosado for a period of time before intervening and taking him into custody,” the Jamestown Police Department said in a press release. “While taking Rosado into custody, an officer sustained lacerations to the hand from the knife Rosado had.”

The city man was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment. He is facing charges of first-degree unlawful imprisonment, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree menacing, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree assault and resisting arrest.
