Charges Pending After Man Kills Dog At City Residence

Jamestown police are investigating a man who reportedly stabbed a dog to death at a city residence Saturday afternoon.

Officers and EMS personnel were called to 87 Baker St. around 3:15 p.m. for a man with self-inflicted stab wounds. The unidentified man was taken to a nearby hospital, though an update on his condition wasn’t immediately available.

Capt. Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown Police Department confirmed that the man stabbed and killed his dog in the incident. He said a charge of felony aggravated cruelty to animals is pending.

Troopers with the New York State Police assisted on Baker Street on Saturday.

More information is expected to be released next week.
