CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ CHAUTAUQUA — A 20-year-old Ripley male was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI with a BAC of 0.8% or higher and moving from lane unsafely. Deputies and Westfield police responded Sunday at 9 p.m. to a crash on Route 394 in the town of Chautauqua. An investigation found that the male was operting the vehicle while intoxicated. He was released with tickets to appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date. A 20-year-old female in the vehicle was taken to Westfield Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

¯ HARMONY — Mark A. Mescall, 47, of Jamestown was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI, moving from lane unsafely and failure to keep right. Deputies responded Sunday at 8 p.m. to a report of a truck in the ditch on Niobe Road in the town of Harmony. Mescall was identified as the driver and left the scene in another vehicle. An investigation later found that Mescall was intoxicated while operating the vehicle. He was released with tickets to appear in Harmony Town Court at a later date.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ John T. Peterson, 35, of Kennedy was charged with DWI, DWI per se, speed in zone and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Officers observed a vehicle at a high rate of speed Saturday on Busti Stillwater Road. Peterson was stopped, and an investigation found that he was intoxicated. Peterson is scheduled to appear in Busti Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
