CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ HANOVER — Shawn M. Field, 30, of Forestville was charged with aggravated DWI with a BAC of 0.18% or higher, DWI, refusal to submit to breath test and stopping/standing/parking on pavement. Deputies responded Saturday at 5:24 p.m. to the area Quarry Road in Hanover for a vehicle in the road with the driver passed out behind the wheel. An investigation found that Field was operating the vehicle was intoxicated. He was released with tickets to appear in Hanover Town Court later.

¯ CHAUTAUQUA — Paul A. Rater, 57, was charged with DWI and failure to keep right. Deputies responded with Mayville and Chautauqua firefighters on Sunday to a rollover crash on Route 430. An investigation found that Rater was westbound on Route 430 when he left the road and severed a utility pole. He was later found to be operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Rater was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.

¯ SINCLAIRVILLE — Fletcher E. Walters III, 27, of Sinclairville was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Deputies went to an address Saturday on South Stockton Cassadaga Road to follow up on a larceny complaint. Walters was found in possession of a controlled substance that did not belong to him and had been reported stolen earlier in the day. He was issued tickets to appear in Stockton Town Court later.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Jose G. Diaz, 25, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers observed Diaz Saturday at 5:30 p.m. on Allen Street. He was known to have active warrants for his arrest out of Jamestown. Diaz allegedly pulled away when officers approached and ran away. He was eventually taken into custody and held in Jamestown City Jail for arraignment.

¯ Mason L. Alexander, 22, was taken into custody Saturday at 11:30 a.m. on two outstanding arrest warrants and two bench warrants. Officers attempted to make contact when Alexander allegedly ran. He was later taken into custody after a brief pursuit and resisting arrest. Alexander was additionally charged with obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

¯ Alden W. Wing, 32, of Jamestown was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers responded Saturday at 12:55 a.m. to Foote Avenue for two disorderly males. Wing was observed arguing with another person. Wing was found to have a warrant out of Jamestown. While taking him into custody, Wing was reportedly found in possession of methamphetamine.

WESTFIELD POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Martin R. Wilder, 71, of Westfield was charged with issuing a bad check. Wilder was issued an appearance ticket after investigating a complaint by the village that said he had written a check to the department of public works. The check was later returned for insufficient funds. Wilder is scheduled to be in Westfield Village Court later.

¯ Kelli L. Tayler, 48, of Westfield was charged with second-degree harassment. Officers had investigated a domestic dispute that reportedly took place Aug. 21 in the town. Tayler allegedly punched a female in the face and shoulder area. She was issued a ticket to appear in Westfield Town Court later.
