CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY

SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ Howard A. Barco, 58, of Orchard Park was charged with grand larceny. Deputies received a complaint July 18 that a male stole a wallet out of a purse at the Bemus Point Golf Course. Investigators were made aware of a string of similar thefts occurring in Pennsylvania and Ohio. A warrant was issued, and Barco was located in Hamburg Town Court. Barco was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.

¯ DUNKIRK — Cristobal OQuendo, 39, of Dunkirk was charged with second-degree assault and trespassing. Deputies responded Wednesday at 6:20 p.m. to an altercation on Route 5 in the town of Dunkirk. An investigation found that OQuendo had allegedly caused injuries to a male victim and remained unlawfully on his property. OQuendo was located a short time later and taken into custody. He was also found to have a warrant out of Chautauqua Family Court.

¯ SILVER CREEK — Barbara L. Zmuda, 48, of Silver Creek was charged with driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to breath test. Deputies on Thursday observed and made contact with a suspicious vehicle in Silver Creek. An investigation discovered that Zmuda was allegedly operating the vehicle while intoxicated. She was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.

¯ MAYVILLE — Eric A. Courtier, 29, of Mayville was charged with petit larceny. Deputies responded Thursday to a shoplifting report from a Mayville business. An investigation found that Courtier allegedly stole merchandise from the business. He was released with an appearance ticket to be in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.

¯ BEMUS POINT — Dennis J. Creed, 45, of Bemus Point, was charged with second-degree aggravated harassment. An investigation found that Creed allegedly sent threatening text messages to another person. On Thursday, Creed was issued an appearance ticket to be in Ellery Town Court to answer the charge.

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY

¯ SALAMANCA — Darryl W. Croker Jr., 35, of Bradford, Pa., was charged with second-degree arson and second-degree reckless endangerment. Croker was taken into custody following an investigation into a structure fire in the city of Salamanca. An arrest warrant was issued, and Croker was arraigned and remanded to Cattaraugus County Jail.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Nicholas K. Rader, 40, of Jamestown was taken into custody after a street check Wednesday at 11:53 p.m. on Washington Street. An investigation found that Rader had a valid probation warrant out of Warren County, Pa. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.
