JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Amanda N. McClellan, 36, of Sheffield, Pa., was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and being a fugitive from justice. Members were on a targeted patrol in Brooklyn Square with the New York State Police on Friday. Officers stopped a vehicle on Allen Street after making several traffic violations. McClellan, a passenger in the vehicle, was found to have numerous warrants out of Pennsylvania. She was also found with a quantity of methamphetamine, and later transported to Jamestown City Jail. The driver was released with traffic citations.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Chad W. Thompson, 35, of Lakewood was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of an ammunition feeding device. Officers were called to a Lakewood residence Friday at 2:34 p.m. for a report of a male allegedly sending inappropriate sexual text messages to a young girl. An investigation found that Thompson had a pistol in the residence but did not possess a permit. He also reportedly had a magazine that held more than 10 rounds of ammunition. Thompson was taken into custody and transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ SILVER CREEK — Christy M. Smathers, 38, of Silver Creek was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, speed in zone and uninspected motor vehicle. Deputies stopped a vehicle Friday at 6:41 for a traffic violation. Smathers was found to be driving the vehicle while intoxicated. She was issued appearance tickets to be in Silver Creek Village Court at a later date.
¯ ELLINGTON — A 17-year-old male was charged with operating in violation of restrictions and failure to keep right. Deputies were called Sunday to Mutton Road for a crash. An investigation found that the 17-year-old left the road and collided with a tree. The male was transported to UPMC Chautauqua for non-life-threatening injuries. He was found to be driving past 9 p.m. on a DJ license, and is scheduled to appear in Ellington Town Court later.
¯ ELLINGTON — Joshua C. Stewart, 37, was charged with second-degree harassment and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Stewart was charged following an alleged incident in the town of Ellington. He was picked up on an arrest warrant and transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
¯ POMFRET — Joshua R. Green, 41, of Dunkirk was charged with DWI, aggravated DWI with a BAC of 0.18% or higher, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operator and no/inadequate lights. Deputies stopped a vehicle Monday at 1:53 a.m. on Fredonia Stockton Road in the town of Pomfret for a traffic violation. Green was charged following an investigation. He is scheduled to answer the charges in Pomfret Town Court later.
