JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Amy E. Nowell, 26, of Jamestown was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs. Officers responded Wednesday at 3:57 p.m. to Washington and Fifth streets for an erratic driver. An investigation found Nowell was allegedly under the influence of drugs. She was processed and released to a responsible party.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ MAYVILLE — James R. Mawhir, 29, of Mayville was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. On Wednesday at 5:41 p.m., deputies located Mawhir, who had an active arrest warrant. He was taken into custody and transported to Chautauqua County Jail.

¯ MAYVILLE — Caitlyn M. Reardon, 18, and Joshua J. Northrop-Dowdall, 28, both of Mayville were each charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Reardon was additionally charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs. Deputies reported coming across a suspicious situation after investigating an unrelated incident on Barnes Road in Mayville. An investigation found that Reardon and Northrop-Dowdall were each in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Reardon was found to be driving while impaired. The pair was released to appear in Chautauqua Town Court at a later date.

¯ BROCTON — Shannon M. Jusko, 38, of Brocton was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument and criminally using drug paraphernalia. Deputies received a tip that Jusko was at a location May 18 in Brocton. Jusko was wanted, and while being taken into custody, she was allegedly found with heroin, hypodermic instruments and drug paraphernalia. Jusko was taken to Chautauqua County Jail and held without bail.

ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Justin H. Roberts and Laverne H. Roberts were both charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Ellicott police were checking an area Wednesday at 2 p.m. near Mill Race Park in Falconer when officers observed two people smoking marijuana inside a vehicle. The pair was issued an appearance ticket to be in Ellicott Town Court at a later date.

¯ Andrew C. Harper, 33, of Falconer was charged with second-degree menacing and unlawful possession of marijuana. Police were called Wednesday at 8:24 p.m. to investigate a male threatening people with a knife. Harper was taken into custody following an investigation. He was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
