JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Christopher J. Howie, 47, of Jamestown was charged with tampering with physical evidence, resisting arrest and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Officers on Saturday at 2:41 p.m. observed Howie enter vehicle in a parking lot on Sixth Street and Prendergast Avenue. He was known to have a parole warrant and warrants out of Jamestown police. Howie fled from the parked vehicle and led officers on a foot pursuit until he was taken into custody after a brief struggle. He was taken to Jamestown City Jail and held for arraignment.

¯ Timothy D. Snyder, 38, was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and aggravated family offense. Officers stopped a vehicle Sunday at 9:49 a.m. on North Main Street and Marvin Parkway. An investigation found that Snyder had an order of protection to stay away from the female inside the vehicle. He was transported to city jail and held for arraignment.

¯ Christian T. Powell, 23, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and failure to comply with lawful order. Officers on Saturday at 9:25 a.m. observed a vehicle with a loud exhaust fail to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle failed to stop for a few blocks before it turned onto Spring Street. Powell exited the vehicle and reported failed to comply with officers’ demands. He was taken into custody without further incident.

¯ Kelvin O. Thomas, 36, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Officers responded Friday at 10 a.m. to a 911 call made by a young child stating his parents were involved in a physical altercation. Officers were able to gain access and made contact with Thomas, a female victim and two young children. An investigation found that Thomas allegedly restrained the victim in front of the children. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to jail.
