CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ ELLERY — Leah M. Cooper, 36, of Bemus Point was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration and failure to keep right. Deputies stopped a vehicle on Dutch Hollow Road around 9:58 p.m. on Friday after witnessing an alleged traffic infraction. Subsequent investigation determined that Cooper was in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine. Cooper will appear in Ellery Town Court at a later date.

¯ SHERIDAN — Nathaniel J. Harrell, 19, of Dunkirk was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, speed not reasonable and prudent and moving from a lane unsafely. Around 5:03 p.m. on Monday, deputies were called to Center Road for a report of a single vehicle accident. An investigation determined that the operator of the vehicle, identified as Harrell, was allegedly traveling at an unsafe speed and exited the roadway. Damage was caused to the vehicle as a result. Deputies also determined that Harrell allegedly had his driving privileges suspended. Harrell was treated at the scene by EMS for minor injuries. He is scheduled to appear in Sheridan Town Court at a later date.

¯ IRVING — Kristy L. Whitmore, 39, of Lancaster, N.Y., was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and moving from lane unsafely. Around 8:46 p.m. on Friday, deputies pulled over a vehicle on Routes 5 and 20 for a traffic violation. Deputies identified the driver as Whitmore. An investigation revealed that Whitmore had her driving privileges suspended in New York state. Deputies also determined that Whitmore was allegedly in possession of a quantity of suboxone. Whitmore will appear in Hanover Town Court at a later date.

¯ ASHVILLE — Justin T. Spicer, 39, of Brocton was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. On Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop at Route 474. An investigation revealed that Spicer had a bench warrant out of Dunkirk City Court. Deputies also found Spicer to allegedly be in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine. Spicer was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

¯ Bediako Nyasa, 23, of New York, New York was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny. Nyasa reportedly turned himself in on charges stemming from an incident that took place May 1 in which he allegedly took a credit card from another person and used it for his own benefit. Nyasa was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ William B. Hallowell, 56, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal contempt. Officers were called to an address on East Second Street Monday for a report of an alleged order of protection violation at 8:40 p.m. When officers arrived on the scene they located Hallowell knocking on the door of the protected person’s residence. Hallowell was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail.
