CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ Michelle Weltikol, 38, of Jamestown was charged with two counts of welfare fraud, first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, misuse of food stamps and fourth-degree grand larceny. Weltikol was taken into custody Wednesday after it was alleged that from Jan. 1, 2017, to Aug. 31, 2017, she failed to notify the Chautauqua County Department of Health & Human Services that she was employed and receiving income while she was receiving benefits. This unreported income allowed for Weltikol to receive $1,467.00 in unentitled benefits. Weltikol is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.

¯ FRENCH CREEK — William E. Heald, 52, of Sheridan was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. Deputies were called Saturday at 11:53 p.m. to an altercation on Camelot Drive in French Creek. A victim alleged that Heald had choked her during the altercation. Heald was taken into custody and transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment. He is scheduled to appear in French Creek Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.

¯ ELLERY — Mitch A. Costanzo, 25, of Kiantone was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. Deputies responded Saturday at 2:10 a.m. to Route 430 in Ellery for a criminal mischief complaint. It is alleged that Costanzo used a hammer to damage the front windshield of a pickup truck. He reportedly fled the scene prior to deputies arriving. He was later taken into custody and taken to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.
