JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Brett A. Peterson, 33, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. Officers responded Monday at 3:21 a.m. to Hunter Street for a disorderly male. An investigation found that Peterson allegedly punched a hole in a bedroom door. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held without bail.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ GERRY — Christopher Smith, 29, of Sinclairville was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Smith was stopped Monday for a traffic violation on Route 60 in Gerry. He was taken into custody after failing several field sobriety tests. During a search, Smith was allegedly found in possession of 1.9 grams of methamphetamine. He was processed and transported to Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ RIPLEY — Victor A. Russ, 27, of Albion, Pa., was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, speed in zone and inadequate stop lamp. Deputies stopped a vehicle March 7 at 4:51 p.m. on Route 20 in Ripley for a traffic violation. It was found that Russ allegedly had a small quantity of concentrated cannabis. He was released with appearance tickets to be in Ripley Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.

¯ CHERRY CREEK — A 17-year-old male was charged with third-degree burglary and petit larceny. Deputies and state police responded to Depot Street in Cherry Creek for a report of three people entering a building. The three fled the scene prior to police arriving. A search was conducted, and three youths were found. An investigation determined that the trio unlawfully entered the building and removed property. The 17-year-old was transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment. The two others, an 11-year-old male and a 14-year-old male, were turned over to a guardian with charges pending.
