Man Dies From Injuries Sustained In Crash
PORTVILLE — An Olean man died Tuesday as a result of injuries sustained from a three-car crash Saturday at 11 a.m.
According to Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Deputies, Paul B. Jurenko, 79, of Olean, was a passenger of a Subaru Forrester that was struck by a Ford Fusion. Deputies said the green Fusion was observed traveling west on Portville-Olean Road and allegedly crossed over into the eastbound lane, colliding with the Forrester. Both vehicles sustained heavy front end damage and were towed from the scene.
Deputies said the driver of the Fusion, Michael C. Bentley, 40, of Olean, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Olean General Hospital from injuries sustained in the crash.
The driver of the Subaru, Susan M. Jurenko, 76, of Olean, was also transported to Olean General Hospital from injuries sustained in the accident, deputies said. A third vehicle was involved in the accident, parked on the side of the road and received minor damage, deputies said.
The investigation is still pending.
