SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ ELLERY — Faith I. Swartz, 44, of Ellery was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Deputies were called Aug. 31 to Ellery for a reported forgery. Deputies determined Swartz allegedly possessed a forged check and stolen property at a business in Jamestown. She was located at her residence and taken into custody. She was being held without bail.

¯ PORTLAND — Shane A. Miller, 28, of Portland was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Deputies conducted a warrant check on Miller on Sunday. Miller was reportedly found in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine. He will answer the charge in Portland Town Court at a later date.

¯ NORTH HARMONY — Michael C. Shreve, 22, of Ashville was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. Deputies took a report of an assault that took place Friday in the state lands of North Harmony. An investigation found that Shreve attacked another person and prevent them from leaving them area. He was arraigned and remanded to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

¯ ELLERY — Robert A. Foster, 73, of Bemus Point was charged with second-degree menacing. Deputies were called Sunday to a residence in Ellery for a reported menacing. An investigation found that Foster allegedly threatened harm to another person while pointing a tire iron about two feet from the victim’s head. Foster was issued an appearance tickets to be in Ellery Town Court at a later date.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

¯ GERRY — Christina Guinnane, 39, of Jamestown was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Guinnane was stopped by troopers Friday on Route 60 in Gerry for a traffic violation. Troopers reported smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle. During a search, troopers reported finding a bag containing marijuana, three marijuana cigarettes, six Xanax pill, two Lortabs, two Adderall pills and a black gravity knife. All pills were controlled substances for which Guinnane did not have a prescription. Guinnane was processed at police barracks and issued appearance tickets to be in Gerry Town Court at a later date.

¯ SINCLAIRVILLE — Jesse Borrello, 22, of Forestville was charged with second-degree harassment. Troopers responded Sunday to a reported domestic incident in Sinclairville. It was learned that while driving on Old Chautauqua Road, Borrello reportedly cut off another person’s vehicle and threatened to kill the person and their passenger. Borrello was served a summons at his residence and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
