City Man Charged After Head-Butting Officers

A Jamestown man was charged after he allegedly struck and head-butted officers during an altercation following a car crash on North Main Street.

Christian J. Encarnacion, 22, was taken into custody after Jamestown police responded Thursday at 5 p.m. to 817 N. Main St. for a fight in the street. Police learned the fight was the result of a motor vehicle crash.

Officers said Encarnacion yelled obscenities in the parking lot of a nearby store and reportedly began walking away from officers when they attempted to take him into custody.

At that moment, Encarnacion “struck an officer in the face with his fist” before he was arrested. While being led to a patrol car, Encarnacion allegedly head-butted two officers in the head area and continued to “aggressively attempt to assault officers,” Jamestown police said in a press release Friday.

Encarnacion was charged with second-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and two counts of second-degree harassment.

Police learned Encarnacion struck the driver of the car involved in the earlier crash and kicked his car, causing damage. He was transported to Jamestown City Jail and held pending arraignment.
