CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ Sharlene Downey, 27, was charged Monday with third-degree assault after a reported altercation. According to police, Downey had allegedly assaulted another individual after a verbal argument. He was taken into custody and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on pre-arraignment bail. Downey will appear in the Town of Villenova court at a later date and time.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Dianna M. Brooks, 67, of Celoron was charged with moving from lane unsafely, driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI for having a blood-alcohol content of more than .18 percent after a one-vehicle accident near 2 Harding Ave., Jamestown, at 3:32 p.m. Tuesday. According to a police report, officers responded to the accident after it was reported. Brooks allegedly drove over a street sign on Harding Avenue, re-entered the road, drove back off the road and then into a chain-link fence. She was released to be in court May 2.
¯ Christopher M. Belin, 27, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree criminal mischief at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday after a domestic incident at 10 Linwood Ave. According to a police report, officers responded to a report of a woman being held against her will. Belin allegedly threw the woman’s cell phone out of a second-story window, shattering it. Belin was later found in the attic trying to hide from police. He was taken to the Jamestown City Jail until he could be arraigned.
¯ Tyler J. Steppe, 32, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal impersonation. Officers stopped a vehicle near 100 Thayer St. around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday for a traffic infraction. Steppe, a passenger in the vehicle, reportedly impersonated another person to hide his identity due to an active warrants from Jamestown City Court. He was transported to jail and held pending arraignment.
