JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Celeste M. Barretero, 37, and Hector Matos, 29, both of Jamestown were charged following a traffic stop Wednesday. At 3:25 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on a gray SUV for making an improper turn at the intersection of Arterial and South Main Street. Upon speaking with the occupants it was determined that the driver, Barretero, had two outstanding warrants out of the Jamestown Police Department. It was also determined that the passenger, Matos, had given the officers a false name. Matos was found to have an out of Erie, Pa., for a probation violation. Both Barretero and Matos were taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail. Barretero is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court on her outstanding warrants, as well as the charges of uninspected motor vehicle, unsafe tire and improper turn. Matos is also being held pending arraignment through Jamestown City Court on the charges of false personation and fugitive from justice.
¯ Nekyle R. Taylor, 24, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment. Officers were called to a reported domestic incident at 9:15 a.m. on Friday. Police learned Taylor reported blocked another person from leaving a room inside a Wilton Avenue residence and continued to restrain them. Taylor was taken to Jamestown City Jail without incident.
¯ Kellen P. Taydus, 35, of Youngsville, Pa., was charged with felony DWI, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unregistered motor vehicle, failing to take a breath test, improper left turn and illegal tint. Officers made a traffic stop Friday around 2:45 a.m. at Washington and West Third streets. Taydus was found to be driving while intoxicated and when being taken into custody was allegedly found with cocaine. He was transported to jail without incident.
¯ Tamara M. Behm, 35, of Fredonia, was charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. Officers responded Friday at 11:30 a.m. to a suspicious situation on Delaware Avenue. Police found that Behm was at a residence and wanted by Fredonia police. When questioned she reportedly took a needle out of her sweatshirt and attempted to conceal it in her coat pocket. She was taken into custody and transported to jail.
¯ Cretia A. Goldsmith, 56, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree burglary and third-degree assault. Officers were called to UPMC Chautauqua WCA on Saturday around 4 p.m. for an assault that took place earlier at a East Second Street residence. Officers spoke with a victim, who said her neighbor entered her apartment and punched her several times in the face, causing minor injuries. Goldsmith was located and taken into custody. She was being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
¯ Paige A. Grekulak, 25, of Jamestown was charged Monday, when it was alleged that she stole merchandise totaling $78.16 from the Lakewood Wal-Mart. Grekulak was taken into custody without incident and charged with petit larceny. She was issued an appearance ticket to return to Busti Town Court at a later date.
¯ Cindy M. Schoonover, 55, was charged with petit larceny on March 23. Schoonover allegedly stole $732.59 worth of merchandise from the Lakewood Wal-Mart. She was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the town of Busti Court.
¯Vanessa J. Rivera, 34, was charged with petit larceny on March 27. Rivera allegedly did not ring in $34.07 worth of merchandise at the self-checkout. She was issued an appearance ticket to be in the town of Busti Court on a later date.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
¯ CHERRY CREEK — Christine Gard, 37, of South Dayton, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. Deputies received a report Friday around 10:45 a.m. of a disorderly person at a residence on South Hill Road in Villenova. Gard reportedly kicked a vehicle belonging to another person, causing minor damage. Gard was issued an appearance ticket to be in Villenova Town Court at a later date.
¯ PORTLAND — Edward Tirado, 36, of Brocton, was charged with false personation, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, speeding over 55 in a zone in unlicensed operator. Deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 20 in the town of Portland on March 25 for speeding. Tirado allegedly provided deputies with a false name. He was eventually taken into custody and arraigned in Portland Town Court. He was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
