JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ John W. Green, 59, was charged with unnecessary noise, second-degree harassment and resisting arrest. Officers responded to a male pounding on cars in a parking lot on Prospect Street at Prather Street on Saturday. Green was located at the intersection and allegedly resisted arrest. He was taken into custody and transported to Jamestown City Jail.

¯ Luis M. Torres Cortes, 32, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and aggravated family offense Sunday around 4:50 p.m. after police identified Cortes inside a vehicle near 39 S. Main St. Cortes was allegedly in direct violation of an active stay away order of protection of Jamestown City Court. Police originally responded to the scene for a separate incident before finding Cortes. He was arrested and transported to city jail and held pending arraignment on a later date.

¯ Angel J. Reyes, 30, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and aggravated family offense after police conducted a warrant check at 9:49 a.m. Monday at 1059 E. Second St. Reyes had been on the Jamestown Police Top 10 Most Wanted list. When officers arrived at the residence a woman told them Reyes wasn’t there and gave officers permission to enter the home to look for Reyes, who was then found inside. Reyes had several arrest warrants and was taken to the city jail without incident. A criminal history and record check showed Reyes allegedly had a valid stay away order by Chautauqua County Supreme Court to stay away from the woman at the residence. He will be in court later.

¯ A 16-year-old youth was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree menacing after police responded to 14 Franklin St. for a report of a male threatening another male with a knife. One of the males fled when police arrived. The remaining youth told police his 16-year-old brother had threatened him with a large knife and damaged his vehicle. The 16-year-old was found a short distance away and charged. He was taken to the city jail until he can be arraigned.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ Aaron R. Simmons, 24, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny, third-degree burglary and possession of burglar tools on Tuesday. Simmons allegedly stole a New York Yankees hat from Wal-Mart on Fairmount Avenue. Simmons was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail and will return to Busti Town Court at a later date.

¯ Michael T. Wall, 41, of Stockton was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se with a blood-alcohol content of .08 percent or more and failure to keep right. An officer on Tuesday on patrol on East Terrace Avenue observed the operator of a vehicle, identified as Wall, cross the center yellow lines of the roadway and was stopped. Wall will appear in Busti Town Court at a later date.
