Jamestown Man Jailed On Burglary, Weapon Charges
A Jamestown man was jailed early Saturday on burglary and weapon charges.
Officers with the Jamestown Police Department responded around 1:30 a.m. for a report of a person in the area of Newland Avenue with a long gun. Police located 36-year-old Jesse C. Heppler, who matched the description provided to officers.
An investigation determined Heppler allegedly entered a residence on Newland Avenue unlawfully and threatened to harm a man inside. Police said the victim was threatened with an object that appeared to be a pistol.
Police learned Heppler also allegedly damaged the tires of the victim’s vehicle prior to entering the residence. Officers located a black BB gun in the grass near the Newland Avenue property.
Heppler was charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree menacing, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree mischief and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
The city man was awaiting arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
