CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

¯ Cynthia J. Johnson-Strong, 50, of Ashville, was charged Wednesday with third-degree grand larceny, first-degree offering false instrument for filing, misuse of food stamps and third-degree welfare fraud following an investigation by the sheriff’s office. It is alleged that from Feb. 1 through May 31, Johnson-Strong failed to notify the Chautauqua County Social Services of income/employment within her household. Johnson-Strong also allegedly filed two false SNAP/food stamp applications. This unreported income allowed for Johnson-Strong to receive $8,577 in unentitled benefits. Johnson-Strong was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.

¯ CHARLOTTE — Richard Banach Jr., 37, of Sinclairville, was charged Tuesday with resisting arrest after sheriff’s deputies were conducting a warrant check on Hooker Road in the town of Charlotte. Banach Jr. was arrested on an arrest warrant from the town of Hamburg. During the arrest, Banach Jr. allegedly became disorderly and resisted arrest. Banach Jr. was issued an appearance ticket for resisting arrest and was later turned over to the Hamburg Police Department. Banach Jr. will answer the charge in Charlotte Town Court at a later date.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯ ASHVILLE — Blake T. Truver, 25, of Jamestown, was charged Wednesday with second-degree harassment, criminal obstruction of breathing and endangering the welfare of a child following a domestic incident Wednesday morning. Around 10:47 a.m., police reported that Truver choked, punched and slapped his wife. Truver was arraigned before Judge Lyle Hajdu and committed to the Chautauqua County Jail on $6,000 property or $3,000 cash bail.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

¯Richelle Harmon, 33, of Jamestown, was charged Tuesday with third-degree endangering the welfare of a child, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and aggravated family offense for a violent domestic on Forest Avenue. Jamestown Police were called to the scene around 5:53 p.m. Upon arrival, police observed a male victim that sustained injuries after allegedly being punched by Harmon. Harmon was allegedly intoxicated, out of control, and refused officer’s commands before being arrested. Harmon continued to be difficult with police and refused to walk to the police car. Harmon is being held and is awaiting to appear in court.
