Cocaine Seized In Dunkirk Drug Stop
DUNKIRK — A Portland man was charged Thursday for allegedly possessing more than 500 milligrams of powder cocaine.
Shortly before noon, Dunkirk police pulled over 50-year-old Steven A. Scott for allegedly signaling a turn improperly on Lake Shore Drive in Dunkirk.
An investigation determined that Scott allegedly had revoked driving privileges in addition to 500-plus milligrams of powder cocaine and two packets of marijuana.
Scott was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle/alcohol-related and operating a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock device.
He was arraigned in Dunkirk City Court and committed to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $30,000 cash or $60,000 property bond. The case was adjourned to March 28.
