¯ COLD SPRING — Jacob Baker, 23, of Montgomery, Alabama, was charged on Oct. 31 with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police pulled Baker over on Interstate 86 in Cold Spring for allegedly speeding. It is alleged that Baker had a marijuana smoking device in plain sight and a canister of hash oil. He was arraigned in Randolph Court and remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail.

¯ KIANTONE — Shawn Oshany, 28, of Warren, Pa., was charged on Oct. 28 with DWI. Police pulled over Oshany on Foote Avenue for allegedly driving erratically on Route 62 in Kiantone. He was allegedly intoxicated with a blood alcohol concentration of .14 percent. He was issued appearance tickets for Jamestown City Court.

¯ MINA — Shelley Wyant, 65, was charged on Oct. 23 with unlawful possession of marijuana. Police pulled over Wyant on Interstate 86 in Mina for allegedly having an illegal window tint. It is alleged that Wyant had a jar containing marijuana, two marijuana cigarettes and a grinder containing marijuana residue. She was scheduled to appear in Mina Court.

¯ ELLERY — Thaddeus Johnson, 23, of Jamestown was charged on Oct. 23 with DWI. Police responded to a report of a vehicle off the road on Route 430 in Ellery. Investigation revealed that Johnson was driving westbound on Route 430, drifted to the left, overcorrected, then left the northside of the roadway and came to rest in a ditch.  Johnson was uninjured. It is alleged that he was intoxicated. He was scheduled to appear in Ellery Court at a later date.

¯ Austin Messere, 21, of Jamestown was charged on Oct. 23 with driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Police pulled over Messere on Marion Street in Jamestown for an observed traffic violation. It is alleged that he had a digital scale containing cocaine residue and an electronic stun gun in his vehicle. He was also allegedly intoxicated with cocaine, marijuana and alcohol. He was arraigned in Ellicott Court and remanded to the county jail.
