JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Randy L. Houghwot of Jamestown was charged with fugitive from justice and two Jamestown Bench Warrants. On Tuesday, at 6:40 a.m., police were notified that Houghwot, who was allegedly wanted out of Pennsylvania and had two outstanding bench warrants from Jamestown City Court, was at the WCA emergency room. Houghwot was taken to the city jail to await arraignment.
CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
MAYVILLE – Gina M. Vinluan, 40, of Hammondsport, was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment. On Wednesday, at 5 a.m., deputies responded to a reported disorderly person at a business on West Lake Road in Mayville. It is alleged that Vinluan was intoxicated and being disorderly in the parking lot of the business. Vinluan was also observed allegedly cursing and kicking another individual. She was arraigned in North Harmony Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of bail.
IRVING – Randy L. Hilliker Jr., 38, of Irving was charged with second-degree menacing. On Sunday, at 9:08 p.m., deputies responded to Versailles Road in Hanover for a reported male subject with a handgun. It is alleged that the male subject pointed a black handgun at a victim while walking on the road. After an investigation, it was determined that Hilliker was in possession of a BB gun that looked identical to an actual handgun. Hilliker was scheduled to appear in Hanover Court at a later date.
SILVER CREEK – David Sodaro, 57, of Silver Creek was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct. On Sunday, at 6:15 p.m., deputies responded to a residence in Silver Creek for a reported harassment. It is alleged that Sodaro harassed another individual which led to a violation of a valid order of protection, which had been previously issued out of Silver Creek Court. Sodaro was arraigned in Silver Creek Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of bail.
MAYVILLE – Robert W. Wappat, 23, of Mayville was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to stop at a stop sign, moving from lane unsafely and open container of alcohol in motor vehicle. On Saturday, at 10:52 p.m., deputies pulled over a driver who allegedly committed several traffic violations in Mayville. The driver – Wappat – was allegedly intoxicated. He was arraigned in Westfield Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of bail.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Ryan Baker, 24, and Alyssa A. Sheldon, 20, both of Jamestown, were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic instrument and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. On Monday, officers pulled over a vehicle on Willard Street near Winsor Street. It is alleged that several items used in packaging and distributing illegal drugs were found in the vehicle, along with several used hypodermic syringes and a small amount of heroin. The driver – Baker – and passenger – Sheldon – were both charged. While in transport to the Jamestown City Jail, Sheldon allegedly attempted to hide some heroin and a hypodermic syringe in the backseat of the patrol car. She was further charged with tampering with physical evidence. They were scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court.
Omar A. Vera-Velasquez, 18, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree robbery, second-degree assault, second-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and petit larceny. On June 22, at 9:16 a.m., police responded to a Liberty Street address for a report of an unwanted male at the residence. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a female victim who alleged that Vera-Velasquez came to the residence shortly before police arrived and assaulted her. She also alleged that Vera-Velasquez came to the residence the previous day at 11:30 p.m., broke open the entry door and forcibly removed property from the victim. Vera-Velasquez was later apprehended by police. He was scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.
Andrew S. Vanguilder, 27, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and aggravated Family Offense. On Sunday, at 4:19 a.m., police responded to a 108 Fairview Ave. upper apartment for a reported disorderly person. Upon arrival, police spoke with Vanguilder who alleged he was having a disagreement with his brother. The victim alleged that Vanguilder kicked a large hole in the front door of his apartment. Vanguilder was taken to the city jail. A criminal history check revealed that Vanguilder had a previous domestic violence conviction within the past five years.
Christian O. Capeles-Diaz, 21, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree criminal trespass and fourth-degree criminal mischief. On Sunday, at 4 a.m., police responded to a 35 Barrows St. upper apartment for a reported unwanted subject. A female victim alleged that her ex-boyfriend – Capeles-Diaz – kicked the door in of her apartment. Capeles-Diaz reportedly fled the scene, but was apprehended shortly afterward. He was taken to the city jail to await arraignment.
Patrick M. Liberte, 58, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. On Friday, at 8:12 p.m., police responded to 109 Newland Ave. for a person with a knife. It is alleged that Liberte went after another person with a knife during a verbal argument. Liberte was scheduled to appear in Jamestown Court at a later date.
Cesar Soto, 38, of Jamestown was charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer, first-degree reckless endangerment, failure to comply with a police officer, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, several vehicle and traffic charges and his felony warrants. Mark McKay, 24, of Jamestown was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. On Thursday, at 4:41 p.m., police attempted to stop a vehicle driven by Soto, who was reportedly wanted on several felony warrants by the Jamestown police. Soto led police on a pursuit that went through the east side of the city, Swede Hill area. He allegedly nearly struck one of the responding police units head-on as he passed them. The pursuit went down Maltby Street to the intersection of Pleasant Avenue, where Soto’s vehicle left the road and struck a tree. Soto allegedly fled on foot, but was taken into custody shortly afterward. McKay, a passenger in the vehicle, was found in possession of drug paraphernalia and taken to the city jail. Both were scheduled to appear in city court at a later date.
Jonathan Vega-Rivera, 24, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal contempt, two counts of aggravated Family Offense and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. On June 22, at 3:09 p.m., police responded to 310 E. Sixth St. for a report of an unwanted subject. Upon arrival, police learned that Vega-Rivera, who reportedly had several outstanding felony warrants, was inside the residence. Vega-Rivera was found hiding underneath a bed and allegedly refused to comply with officers. He was later apprehended. Police determined that an order of protection required Vega-Rivera to stay away from the residence. He was taken to city jail to await arraignment.
ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT
Lisa L. Michael, 43, of Celoron was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. On Saturday, police responded to 10 E. Burtis St. in Celoron to check the well-being of her children and animals in the house. It is alleged that Michael showed a lack of care to her children and failed to provide proper substance under the New York State Ag and Markets Law for her animals. The house was deemed condemned due to its condition inside. Michael was issued an appearance ticket for Ellicott Court.
Douglas C. Miller, 47, of Jamestown was charged with open container, aggravated driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, felony DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and other traffic violations. On June 22, at 9:55 p.m., police observed a vehicle traveling erratically on Boulevard Avenue in Celoron. The driver – Miller – was allegedly intoxicated and a revoked license from a previous DWI within the past 10 years. Miller was arraigned in Ellicott Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
Timothy D. Yocum, 45, of Falconer was charged with second-degree harassment. On June 22, police charged Yocum for allegedly threatening to beat up a victim in a vehicle. He was issued an appearance ticket for Ellicott Court.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Mikelle A. Weathers, 27, of Poughkeepsie was charged with petit larceny and endangering the welfare of a child. On Monday, at 6:07 p.m., Weathers allegedly stole a full cart of merchandise, valued at $170.23, from the Lakewood Wal-Mart. Weathers was with her 2-year-old child at the time. Weathers was scheduled to appear in Busti Court at a later date.
Kayla M. Snyder, 18, of Lakewood was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and speed in zone. On Monday, at 5 p.m., police pulled over a vehicle on Big Tree Road for allegedly speeding. It is alleged that the driver – Snyder – was in possession of marijuana. She was scheduled to appear in Busti Court at a later date.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
STOW – Andrew McCauley, 27, of Vale, Colo, was charged with operating a vessel while intoxicated on Sunday morning. Around 7:41 a.m., a concerned citizen called the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office about a subject who appeared unresponsive on a jetski approximately 200 feet off shore. Upon arrival with assistance from the Bemus Point Fire Department, McCauley, who had woken up, was towed into shore. After an investigation, McCauley was arrested for operating a vessel while intoxicated. He was arraigned in the town of North Harmony Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 cash bond or $2,000 bail.
MAYVILLE – Jason J. Sprague, 26, of South Erie Street, Mayville, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marijuana. On Monday at about 7:20 p.m., deputies were at an address on South Erie Street, Mayville, performing an investigation. While on scene, deputies had received a complaint from a resident in regards to an odor of marijuana. Through an investigation of the complaint, it was discovered that Sprague was in possession of a quantity of marijuana. It was also discovered that Sprague had been smoking marijuana with a 14-year-old. Sprague was issued appearance tickets and is due back in the town of Chautauqua Court at a later date.
CARROLL – Ryan D. Edwards, 32, of Sandberg Road, Carroll, was charged with second-degree harassment, fourth-degree criminal mischief and criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation. On Sunday around 6 a.m., deputies responded to a residence on Sandberg Road for a disorderly male. Upon arrival, it was alleged Edwards had struck and attempted to choke another individual at the residence. It was also alleged that he destroyed property that did not belong to him. Edwards was taken into custody and after processing was arraigned in town of Kiantone Court, after which he was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail on $2,000 cash bail.
ELLERY – Efrain Mariera, 36, of Jamestown was arrested Sunday after sheriff’s deputies responded to a vehicle rollover on Route 430 in the town of Ellery around 8:16 p.m. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Mariera, who was further charged with felony driving while intoxicated – previous conviction within 10 years, felony DWI – Leandra’s Law (child under 16 in vehicle), felony aggravated unlicensed operation, operating without ignition interlock device, unsafe speed, moving from lane unsafely and unlicensed operater. Mariera was taken by Bemus Point ambulance to WCA Hospital for treatment of his injuries. He will answer his charges in Ellery Court.

FREWSBURG – Bethany Jackson, 25, of Kennedy was charged with felony DWI and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Jackson was pulled over on Route 62 in Frewsburg for allegedly speeding. She was taken into custody for allegedly being intoxicated. A check of Jackson’s driving record revealed that her driving privileges in New York state were revoked due to a DWI conviction in 2011, therefore Jackson was additionally charged with the felony charge. She was arraigned in Charlotte Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.
CARROLL – Richard Ockerhausen, 69, of Frewsburg was charged with resisting arrest and two counts of disorderly conduct. On June 15, Ockerhausen was approached by police when he was observed allegedly standing in the middle of Wigren Road, causing an unpleasant scene by refusing to move for traffic and yelling obscenities for no apparent reason. Ockerhausen continued to act belligerent after being advised he was under arrest and refused the trooper’s instructions during the arrest process, including allegedly physically resisting handcuffing. Once restrained, Ockerhausen was arraigned in Carroll Court, posted bail and was released. He is scheduled to reappear in Carroll Court next month to answer the charges.

LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Moises Ledesma-Velazquez, 28, and Carmen A. Amarosoto, 48, both of Jamestown, were charged with petit larceny. On Friday, at 9:20 p.m., both defendants allegedly stole multiple clothing items, valued at $76.53, and multiple DVD movies from the Lakewood Wal-Mart. They were issued appearance tickets for Busti Court.
Tiffany C. Bindics, 34, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. On Sunday, Bindics allegedly stole items from the Lakewood Wal-Mart. Further investigation determined that she allegedly had two hypodermic needles in her possession. She was scheduled to appear in Busti Court at a later date.
Joshua A. Bang, 24, of Busti was charged with third-degree felony grand larceny. From May to June, it is alleged that Bang took logging equipment from a logger that was contracted to log property at 3121 Burton Road. It is alleged that Bang took the equipment to a local scrap yard for money. Police reportedly recovered some tools of the logger at Bang’s residence.
ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT
Miranda Haley, 19, of Jamestown was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief. On Saturday, at 2:10 a.m., police responded to a reported person damaging property at the Burger King, located on Fairmount Avenue. The person – later identified as Haley – was located on Southwestern Drive. She was given an appearance ticket for Ellicott Court.
Steven R. Ward, 46, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree aggravated harassment and second-degree criminal contempt. On Friday, police responded to 61 E. Everett St. in Falconer for an aggravated harassment report. It is alleged that Ward repeatedly contacted his ex-girlfriend via phone calls and voicemails. These calls and voicemails violated an active order of protection set forth by Ellicott Court. Ward was arraigned in Ellicott Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
Shawn A. Sobczak, 28, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree burglary. Timothy L. Gilbert, 29, Amy S. Guichard, 27, and James R. Morris Jr., 21, all of Jamestown, were charged with trespass. On Thursday, police were conducting a property check of a vacant house when they observed a van parked in the driveway loaded with scrap metal. Officers detained the four defendants who were inside the residence. Sobczak was arraigned in Ellicott Court and committed to the Chautauqua County Jail. The others were given an appearance ticket for Ellicott Court.

JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
Brandon L. VanGiesen, 25, of Jamestown was charged with three counts of second-degree criminal contempt. On Sunday, at 7:45 p.m., police responded to 506 W. Sixth St. for a well-being check. It is alleged that VanGiesen was hiding inside the residence despite a valid order of protection requiring him to stay away from three individuals inside. He was taken to the Jamestown City Jail to await arraignment.
Austin Gordon, 50, of Jamestown, was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment and third-degree assault. On Saturday, officers of the first platoon responded to 89 Hazzard St. for a domestic dispute in progress. Officers arrived on scene where a female victim alleged that Gordon hit her in the face, causing injury, and then prevented her from leaving the apartment. Gordon was taken into custody without incident and transported to the City Jail. He also had an active bench warrant out of Jamestown City Court.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Shyron A. Campbell, 30, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree harassment. On June 12, at 3 p.m., police responded to a reported domestic dispute at 3017 Garfield Road. It is alleged that Campbell was involved in a dispute with a female, in which Campbell pushed the female to the ground and struck her. Campbell was issued an appearance ticket for Busti Court.

Alyssa A. Sheldon, 20, of Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny, criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Thursday around 3:30 p.m. It is alleged that Sheldon stole merchandise from the Lakewood Wal-Mart. She was located a short distance away and found to be in possession of a hypodermic instrument and a small amount of a narcotic drug. She was arraigned in the town of Busti Court and released.
Amie J. Ball, 31, of Hazzard Street, Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny. On June 9, she was arrested at 6:40 p.m. after she reportedly was caught stealing merchandise from the Lakewood Wal-Mart. The stolen items included clothes, candy and other food items. She was processed on scene and later released with an appearance ticket. Ball was also banned for life from the Wal-Mart location following the incident.

ELLICOTT POLICE
Scottie O. Koteras, 41, of 740 Falconer St., Jamestown, was charged with petit larceny. On Tuesday, Ellicott police responded to a local business for a reported left of a wallet. Officers reviewed the security footage and obtained a description of the subject, who was later located and identified as Koteras. He was given an appearance ticket for town of Ellicott Court.
A 16-year-old youth was charged with third-degree assault stemming from a fight at school. While at school, eating breakfast, the two youths had a verbal exchange which led to the fight. The victim suffered a head injury and had to seek medical attention.
Anthony C. Neubauer, 25, of 79 Baker St., Jamestown, was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree harassment on June 8, stemming from an incident on June 1 on Gerry-Levant Road in the town of Ellicott. He was arraigned and committed to the Chautauqua County Jail on bail and will appear in court at a later date.
Tara L. Schulz, 29, of 182 Colfax St., Jamestown, was charged on June 9 at noon after officers were dispatched to Dollar General in Falconer on reports of a female having driven off with a wallet she found in the parking lot. It is alleged Schulz attempted to leave the scene with the wallet after a juvenile in the vehicle attempted to stop her. While the vehicle was moving, the juvenile jumped out to report the stolen wallet to employees at Dollar General. The juvenile was unharmed, but Schulz was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and petit larceny and was arraigned in the town of Ellicott Court, where she was further remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 property bond. Schulz is to appear back in Ellicott Court at a later date.

HANOVER – David Brill Jr., 36, of Silver Creek was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, second-degree harassment, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. On Friday around 9:30 p.m., deputies responded to Buffalo Street in the town of Hanover for a reported altercation. Upon arrival and after an investigation, it is alleged Brill was involved in an altercation with a victim while two youths were present. He was arraigned in Hanover Town Court. He was unable to post bail and was remanded to Chautauqua County Jail.
KIANTONE – Brian A. Westerdahl, 18, of Jamestown, was charged with failure to keep right, driving while intoxicated and DWI per se. On Saturday around 2:03 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 60 in the town of Kiantone for failing to keep right. Deputies identified the driver as Westerdahl. He was taken into custody and later released with traffic tickets. Westerdahl will appear in the town of Kiantone Court at a later date.
RIPLEY – Jonathan F. Kopta, 25, of Elmwood Road, Mayville, was charged with failure to keep right, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 or higher. On Thursday around 6:47 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the report of a one-car motor vehicle accident on Route 76 in the town of Ripley. Upon arrival, it was found the operator had left the scene. Through an investigation, deputies located Kopta and allege he was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition. Kopta was taken into custody and later released with appearance tickets in the town of Ripley Court at a later date.
SILVER CREEK – James Erickson, 49, of Bacheller Hill Road, Stockton, was charged with failure to keep right, failure to stop at a stop sign and driving while ability impaired by drugs. On Thursday at approximately 5:18 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of Buffalo Street in the village of Silver Creek for the report of a motor vehicle accident with personal injury. Deputies arrived on scene and located a vehicle that had struck the side of a garage on Adams Street, causing minor damage to the vehicle and garage. Erickson was located in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and was transported to Lake Shore Hospital for evaluation. He was treated and released and after an investigation, placed under arrest for driving while ability impaired by drugs. He was processed and released and is scheduled to appear in the village of Silver Creek Court on a later date.
HANOVER – Chad M. Banas, 38, of Cherry Creek, was charged with DWI, DWI Per Se, moving from lane unsafely, and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. On June 12 around 2:12 a.m., deputies observed a vehicle move from lane unsafely on Alleghany Road in the town of Hanover. Deputies stopped the vehicle and identified Banas as the operator. He was arrested and released with appearance tickets for the town of Hanover Court at a later date.
SILVER CREEK – David Sodaro, 57, of Silver Creek, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree harassment. On June 12, deputies were called to a residence in Silver Creek for a report of a order of protection violation. Upon further investigation, deputies found that Sodaro committed the violation of second-degree harassment, which also violated an order of protection issued out of the village of Silver Creek Court. Sodaro was arraigned in Silver Creek Village Court, where he was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.
HANOVER – Craig N. Stevens, 29, of Silver Creek, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. On June 10 around 1:49 a.m., deputies were on patrol in the town of Hanover and located a suspicious vehicle parked on Routes 5 and 20. During the investigation, Stevens was allegedly found to be in possession of 28 grams of marijuana. Stevens will appear in the town of Hanover Court at a later date.
MAYVILLE – Ryan J. Newell, 34, of Jamestown, was taken into custody on June 9 after sheriff’s deputies checked a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department in Mayville around 12:10 a.m. A rear-seat passenger was identified as Newell, who was found to have an active felony warrant out of the city of Jamestown as well as multiple warrants out of the town of Busti and Pennsylvania. He was turned over to Jamestown Police Department.
SILVER CREEK – Alla S. McMurray, 56, of Westfield was charged on June 9 with DWI, DWI per se having a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, and failure to dim head lamps. Around 12:09 a.m., Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies on patrol stopped a vehicle for an observed violation on Central Avenue in the village of Silver Creek. Deputies spoke with the operator, who identified herself as McMurray. She was processed and released with citations directing her to appear in the village of Silver Creek Court at a later date.
DUNKIRK – Aaron X. Torres, 47, of Fredonia, was charged on June 8 with speed in zone, driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or greater. Around 10:18 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 60 in the town of Dunkirk for committing a traffic violation. Through an investigation it was determined that the operator, Torres, was allegedly operating his vehicle in an intoxicated state. He was taken into custody and later released with appearance tickets for town of Dunkirk Court at a later date.

SHERIFF’S OFFICE
Rosemary McKay, 54, of 11030 Gulf Road, Coldspring, was charged with one count of second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, possessing more than 2 ounces of methamphetamine, and one count of criminal possession of a firearm. The charges were filed after a lengthy investigation in the towns of Little Valley and Coldspring by members of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force. McKay was taken to the town of Salamanca Court where she was held without bail. More charges are pending. The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force was assisted by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team, Salamanca Police Department, New York State Police and New York State Police CCERT team.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
BUSTI – Robert Heeter, 27, of Jamestown, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and speeding on Sunday. Around 12:24 a.m., a Lakewood Busti Police officer on patrol on Forest Avenue Extension in the town of Busti observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Forest Avenue. Upon further investigation, the vehicle was found to be operated by Heeter, who was allegedly in possession of marijuana. He will appear in the town of Busti Court at a later date.
LAKEWOOD – Jesse C. Westfall, 20, of Carlson Road, Jamestown, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and speeding. On Friday around 10:45 p.m., a Lakewood Busti Police officer on patrol on East Summit Avenue in the village of Lakewood observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. Upon further investigation, the vehicle was found to be operated by Westfall, who was allegedly in possession of a small amount of marijuana. He will appear in the town of Busti Court at a later date.

Andrew S. VanGuilder, 27, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and felony and misdemeanor arrest warrants. On Wednesday, at 8:39 p.m., police responded to 108 Fairview Ave. for a warrant check. It is alleged that VanGuilder ran from police upon their arrival. Police later found VanGuilder allegedly hiding in the attic of the garage. He was taken to the Jamestown City Jail to await arraignment.
Jason S. Smith, 46, of Frewsburg was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, two counts of second-degree criminal contempt, second-degree burglary, second-degree aggravated harassment, third-degree criminal tampering, fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child. On Monday, at 3 p.m., police responded to a reported violation of an order of protection at a Buffalo Street address. Police located the victim at the scene, but the defendant – Smith – reportedly fled the scene. It is alleged that Smith entered the residence, tampered with property and threatened the victim despite having a valid order of protection to stay away from the residence. It is also alleged that Smith stole another female victim’s cellphone and placed a small child in danger while inside. Smith was later apprehended and taken to the Jamestown City Jail to await arraignment.
Richard N. Ford Jr. of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and aggravated family offense. On Tuesday, at 8:30 p.m., police responded to a reported disorderly person at the 700 block of Washington Street. It is alleged that Ford was on the porch of a residence that he was ordered to avoid by an order of protection. A criminal history check indicated that Ford had a previous criminal contempt conviction. He was taken to the Jamestown City Jail to await arraignment.
LAKEWOOD-BUSTI POLICE DEPARTMENT
Celeste M. Carr, 30, of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny. On Thursday, Carr was charged after a warrant check revealed that she has allegedly stolen $38.52 worth of clothing and other merchandise from the Lakewood Wal-Mart on May 10. She is scheduled to appear in Busti Court on June 14.
Matthew E. Hall, 48, of Ashville was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating without seat belt, uninspected motor vehicle, operating without insurance, unregistered motor vehicle and operating without plates. On Tuesday, at 5:20 p.m., police pulled over a vehicle on East Fairmount Avenue in Lakewood for an observed traffic violation. It is alleged that the vehicle did not have license plates and the driver – Hall – refused to provide any identification to the police. Hall allegedly became combative with officers as well. He was arraigned in Busti Court and committed to the Chautauqua County Jail.
Norman J. Lindell, 43, of Lakewood was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of marijuana and speed in zone. Colorado N. Hintz was charged with second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance outside original container. On May 27, at 12:41 a.m., police pulled over a vehicle that was speeding on Garfield Road in Busti. It is alleged that the driver – Lindell – was in possession of a large rock of crack cocaine weighing more than 500 milligrams, two crack pipes, a marijuana separator with marijuana and a scale for weighing crack cocaine. Lindell’s passenger – Hintz – was allegedly found with a crack pipe under her seat, a marijuana separator with marijuana, 38 Suboxone films and a scale for weighing drugs. Hintz was given an appearance ticket for Busti Court. Lindell was arraigned in Busti Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or $50,000 property bond.
A 17-year-old male was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. On Monday, at 10:50 p.m., the 17-year-old was pulled over on Shadyside Road in Lakewood and found to allegedly have marijuana in his possession. The 17-year-old was given an appearance ticket for Busti Court.

FINDLEY LAKE-Jason Rubal Caba was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fugitive from justice. On Tuesday, police pulled over a Caba on Interstate 86 in Findley Lake for allegedly speeding. It is alleged that police observed two open cans of beer inside the vehicle as well as a bottle containing a tramadol pill, a controlled substance for which Caba did not have a prescription. Caba allegedly had multiple arrest warrants out of Massachusetts. He was arraigned in Sherman Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.
Michael Patterson Jr., 22, and Courtney Lauer, 22, both of Frewsburg, were charged with three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal using a hypodermic needle and possession of a controlled substance in a non-original container. On Monday, Patterson was pulled over on Windsor Street in Jamestown for a loud exhaust. It is alleged that a subsequent search of the vehicle revealed multiple items of drug evidence, such as pills and syringes. Patterson allegedly had a suspended license and was additionally charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. Both Patterson and Lauer were arraigned in Ellicott Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail.

On Wednesday, at 9:30 a.m., police went to a 211 Barrows St. residence to locate Smith, who reportedly had outstanding warrants out of Jamestown. Smith allegedly locked himself into a bedroom and refused to open the door for officers. He then allegedly attempted to climb out a bedroom window, but was confronted by perimeter officers. He was eventually taken into custody after he retreated back to the bedroom. He was taken to Jamestown City Jail to await arraignment.

Jason A. Holdridge, 30, of Falconer was charged with petit larceny. On Tuesday, investigators looked into a larceny case that occurred in May. It is alleged that Holdridge took property from another without permission. He was scheduled to appear in Ellicott Court at a later date.

SILVER CREEK-Jennifer Roche, 36, of Silver Creek was charged with third-degree assault and criminal obstruction of breathing. On Saturday, at 9:49 p.m., deputies responded to a Henry Street address in Silver Creek for a reported fight. It is alleged that Roche grabbed and applied pressure to the neck of another, and struck the victim with a closed fist. Further investigation determined that a 16-year-old female allegedly struck another individual while a small child was being held. The 16-year-old was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree harassment. Both were scheduled to appear in Silver Creek Court at a later date.

On Friday, at 2:40 p.m., police responded to a reported disorderly subject. It is alleged that VanGiesen left two young children unsupervised for an extended period of time. Once the children were safe with a family member, VanGiesen allegedly began to damage the residence. He was apprehended after initially fleeing the scene. Dominic Santiago, 19, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree assault. On May 25, at 6:05 p.m., police responded to a fight at a East Fourth Street address. It is alleged that Santiago attacked a victim on the porch. The victim required medical attention. Santiago was taken to Jamestown City to await arraignment.

Zachary C. Clark, 48, of Ashville was charged with third-degree assault. On Thursday, police responded to a harassment complain at Kwik Fill, located at 455 W. Main St. in Falconer. A female victim alleged that Clark shoved her to the ground and caused injury. Clark was apprehended and scheduled to appear in Ellicott Court today at 6 p.m.

Miguel A. Soto, 42, of Lakewood was charged with four counts of petit larceny and four counts of third-degree burglary. On Thursday, at 7:50 p.m., Soto turned himself into the Lakewood-Busti Police Department on multiple felony warrants. It is alleged that Soto stole property from the Lakewood Wal-Mart on four separate dates after being officially barred from entering Wal-Mart for previous incidents at the store. He was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail and scheduled to appear in Busti Court at a later date.
James A. Grant of Jamestown was charged with petit larceny. Recently, Grant was charged after allegedly stealing $45.78 worth of merchandise from the Lakewood Wal-Mart. He was scheduled to appear in Busti Court at a later date.

Jacqueline Madison, 48, of Homestead, Pa., was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. On Sunday, Madison was pulled over on Route 60 for allegedly failing to dim her high beams. It is alleged that Madison had several partially smoked marijuana cigarettes inside her vehicle in plain view. Police allegedly located a grinder containing marijuana vegetation in Madison’s purse. She was scheduled to appear in Ellicott Court at a later date.
CLYER-Jared Goodwill, 27, of Corry, Pa., was charged with fugitive from justice. On Saturday, Goodwill was pulled over on Corry-Clymer Road in Clymer for allegedly not wearing a seatbelt. It is alleged that Goodwill had an active warrant out of Meadville, Pa., for a violation of probation. He was arraigned in Clymer Court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.

The building manager informed police that the apartment was vacant and a male individual was squatting there without permission. The individual – Perez-Morales – was taken into custody. He allegedly had a quantity of heroin and multiple empty heroin bags in his possession. He was scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date.
Brian Harrison, 34, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree assault and felony aggravated Family Offense. On Tuesday, at 9:40 a.m., police responded to a domestic violence incident on Thayer Street. It is alleged that Harrison did headbutt a female victim in the nose and injured her. CHAUTAUQUA – Four teenagers from Ripley were involved in a motor vehicle accident on Hannum Road Gorge in Chautauqua. The driver – a 17-year-old male – was traveling west on Hannum Road when he lost control of his vehicle and struck two trees, resulting in the vehicle to roll over and catch on fire. The 17-year-old and his three passengers were able to exit the vehicle safely. Three of the occupants were taken to Westfield Hospital for minor treatment, while one of the occupants was flown by Starflight to Hamot Hospital in Erie, Pa. for a reported neck injury. The 17-year-old was charged with speed not reasonable and operating out of license restrictions.

On Friday, at 12:14 a.m., police responded to 24 Swan St. for a reported domestic incident. It is alleged that the 18-year-old male body slammed his mother onto the floor and held her down. It is also alleged that a sibling attempted to intervene and was kicked in the abdomen. The 18-year-old was taken to the city jail to await arraignment.
Jermanie Gordon, 28, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, two counts of obstructing governmental administration and a warrant for failing to appear on felony charges. On Monday, at 12:31 p.m., police conducted a warrant check at a 734 E. Second. St. upper apartment for Gordon. It is alleged that Gordon slammed a door shut on officers and attempted to flee out the back of the residence. Gordon was apprehended after police breached the door.

GERRY-Sean J. Williams, 20, of Tonawanda was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. On Monday, at 12:02 p.m., Williams reportedly swerved to miss a deer while traveling on Old Chautauqua Road in Gerry. Police said his vehicle entered a ditch and overturned. Williams was not injured but was issued a ticket for aggravated unlicensed operation. He was scheduled to appear in Gerry Court at a later date.
CASSADAGA-Kristen L. Surrena, 26, of Jamestown was charged with issuing a bad check. On May 31, at 3:30 a.m., Surrena was taken into custody after deputies linked her to an earlier bad check complaint at a Cassadaga business. It is alleged that Surrena issued a check for services, but the check was returned for insufficient funds. She was picked up at her residence and committed to the county jail.
SHERMAN-Gary L. Emory, 64, of Sherman was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, failure to keep right, no driver’s side mirror and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle. On Monday, at 1:09 a.m., Emory was pulled over on Main Street in Sherman for allegedly failing to keep right and driving without a left side rear view mirror. On Tuesday, at 1:34 a.m., deputies pulled over a Scott for allegedly committing multiple traffic violations on Buffalo Road in Irving. It is alleged that Scott was intoxicated and in possession of marijuana. Scott was turned over to a third party. Deputies observed Jamison arrive at the Sheriff’s station in a vehicle to pick up Scott. She allegedly parked in a handicapped parking space and deputies later determined that she was also intoxicated and had a suspended driver’s license. Both Scott and Jamison were released to a third party.

On Sunday, at 3:15 a.m., deputies pulled over Conklin for an observed traffic infraction on Route 394 in North Harmony. It is alleged that Conklin was in possession of marijuana. He was scheduled to appear in North Harmony Court at a later date.
BEMUS POINT-Brady J. Wesp, 22, of Bemus Point was charged with DWI, DWI with BAC of .08 percent or more, failure to keep right and failure to maintain lane. On Saturday, at 2 a.m., deputies pulled over Wesp on Center Street in Bemus Point for allegedly committing multiple lane violations. It is alleged that Wesp was intoxicated. She was scheduled to appear in Ellery Court at a later date.
SILVER CREEK-Robert K. Shumaker Jr., 35, of Silver Creek was charged with disorderly conduct. On May 26, at 7:17 p.m., deputies allegedly observed Shumaker yelling obscenities and displaying obscene gestures in the presence of the public. He was placed into custody, arraigned in Hanover Court and remanded to the county jail in lieu of bail.
