City Man Charged With Attempted Armed Robbery Of Brooklyn Square Rite Aid
Jamestown police have charged Timothy J. Thomas, 31, of Jamestown with first-degree attempted robbery, first-degree criminal use of a firearm and second-degree menacing after Thomas allegedly attempted to rob the Rite Aid at 50 S. Main St., Jamestown, at 11:06 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers responded to the scene and found a man had tried to rob the store with what appeared to be a gun and then fled the scene. Mitchell, the department’s K-9, tracked the person for several blocks to 207 Spring St., where Jaemstown police, New York State Police, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies and Lakewood-Busti police officers helped take Thomas into custody.
Thomas was charged and taken to the Jamestown City Jail until he can be arraigned.
