JAMESTOWN POLICE - Britney M. Nieves, 27, of Jamestown was charged with DWI and traffic violations at 5:09 a.m. Sept. 20 after officers responded to a request to check the well being of a person at Center and Crane streets. Officers arrived to find Nieves in a vehicle that had been driven off the road and gotten stuck before Nieves allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel. A Jamestown man faces second-degree assault charges after allegedly hitting another person in the head with a hammer during an argument. Austin T. Thayer, 29, of Jamestown was charged with second-degree felony assault, third-degree felony criminal possession of a weapon, felony tampering with physical evidence and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance at 12:53 a.m. Wednesday. JAMESTOWN POLICE - Michael A. Bane, 27, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt at 12:09 p.m. Monday after city police allegedly saw Bane walking with a woman on the city’s south side who had an active order of protection for Bane to stay away from her. Bane was charged without incident and taken to the city jail until he could be arraigned.

Mayville man pleads guilty to access device fraud

A New York man has pleaded guilty to one felony charge of access device fraud involving a Warren County resident. Jason L. Pattison, 44, of Mayville, N.Y., was charged Dec. 11, 2025, with third-degree felony accessing a device issued to another who did not authorize use and misdemeanor identity theft. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — HARMONY — At approximately 9:12 a.m. Sunday, deputies were dispatched to a reported altercation on Madden Road. Upon further investigation, 33-year-old Kyle D. Elderkin did intentionally damage property inside of a residency.
