FALCONER — Christmas in July is returning to the village.

The multi-day celebration was held for the first time last year as a way to help Falconer residents through difficult times in the midst of the pandemic. This year, events will take place Thursday, July 21, through Saturday, July 23.

Renee Tompsett, a member of the Christmas in July Committee, said events are geared toward being family-oriented.

“It was very well received last year,” Tompsett said. “It’s extremely family-oriented. We have a few new things this year, including games, bounce houses, a Christmas cookie sale and an animated movie, ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas.'”

Tompsett added that there will also be life-sized games for kids including Yahtzee and Connect 4. The events will be located on the Falconer football field before the movie.

After a successful launch last year, Christmas in July is returning to the village of Falconer. Events will kick off Thursday, July 21.

Additional events include a library book sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and a concert at Davis Park on Thursday, July 21. On Friday, the book sale continues from 9 a.m to 5 p.m., along with a chicken barbecue from 5-6:30 p.m. and the movie showing at 7 p.m.

Saturday’s events include the book sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., a craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a fun fair for children from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., a parade at noon down Main Street, carriage rides from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Foodies Food Truck from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., bounce houses from 9 a.m to 3 p.m., Kiwanis hot dog sale, Christmas cookie bake sale hosted by Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and a petting zoo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tompsett said the committee is looking forward to the events.

“I’m thrilled it was so well received last year,” Tompsett said. “I’m looking forward to it this year. I’m just happy we’re able to have this family and child oriented event.”
