Jamestown Board of Public Utilities and city Parks, Recreation and Conservation workers are pictured raising the official Jamestown Christmas tree at Tracy Plaza on Wednesday. This year’s Jamestown Christmas Tree will be a 40-foot tall blue spruce tree donated by Lindsay DeLong and her family from their Propect Street home. After Parks, Recreation and Conservation employees harvested the tree, the city workers and BPU staff with a crane loaded the truck onto a trailer donated and driven by Lake Shore Paving. The BPU crane raised and held the tree in place while it was secured in preparation for decorating with more than 3,000 LED lights by Parks, Recreation and Conservation department workers. The ceremonial lighting of the Christmas Tree will be during the Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 4.
