‘Tis The Season
Christmas Tree Installed Onto Tracy Plaza
It’s a sure sign that Christmas is coming.
A Colorado blue spruce tree has been installed onto Tracy Plaza at the city Municipal Building, located at 200 E. Third St. City Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department employees, along with the assistance of a crew and crane from the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities, loaded the tree onto a truck and trailer that was provided by Lake Shore Paving. The 50-foot tall Colorado blue spruce was donated by the family of Dr. Kenneth and Miranda Erickson.
The Christmas tree haul to Tracy Plaza was shorter than normal because this year’s tanenbaum was already located downtown. The tree was harvested from in front of the former Migliore’s Funeral Home, located at 415 E. Fourth St. The building now serves as the new home to Erickson’s Chiropractic Office and Health & Wellness Center.
Following the installation of the tree on Tracy Plaza, more that 3,000 energy efficient LED lights will be placed on the tree by city Parks Department staff members.
The lighting of the tree will be at the start of the city of Jamestown Holiday Parade at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.
