Readers Will Receive First Weekend Edition Sat.

On Saturday, Post-Journal readers will receive the first of the paper’s enhanced weekend edition.

The Sunday Post-Journal will be delivered to homes on Saturdays while remaining available throughout the weekend in stores and vending machines.

For 193 years, The Post-Journal has been the region’s leading news-gathering organization, focusing on the daily events and breaking news that happens in southern Chautauqua County and portions of Cattaraugus County in our print edition, e-edition and post-journal.com, as well as on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

The product will include our full-color weekend comics, an enhanced weather page and our large weekend classified advertising listings. By combining all of your favorite features from Saturday’s and Sunday’s editions into one day, and by reporting on the issues that matter the most to you, along with more local content from readers through Letters to the Editor and guest columnist submissions, we will provide an edition full of news, sports and lifestyles. The enhanced Sunday Post-Journal also will contain all of your favorite Sunday advertising inserts and specials a day earlier, which will allow readers to better plan their weekend shopping trips. Subscription rates will not increase.

Our online edition also will continue to be a source of enhanced information.

News and sports events that happen Saturdays will be available through our web site and app throughout the weekend. Readers looking to stay up on the latest daily headlines and breaking news also can sign up for our online newsletters at our website.

The Post-Journal is also making some changes that will start in Monday’s edition.

The events listing that has typically been found on the Comics page each day will now run in one listing every Monday in an effort to make those listings more useful for readers by placing the meetings they are looking for in one place. Organizations that need to add a listing or change a listing can call Eric Tichy, The Post-Journal’s city editor, at 487-1111, ext. 242, or email etichy@post-journal.com.

Horoscopes will now be found on the Comics page Monday through Friday, with the Saturday and Sunday horoscopes appearing in the Weekend Life section on Pages C4-C5.

In addition to To Your Good Health and Dear Abby, the weather page will now also feature Dear Annie, an advice columnist whose column will appear six days a week in The Post-Journal.

That’s Racin’, which has appeared in Thursday’s Sports section, will now appear in the weekend edition.
