Methamphetamine, cocaine, cash and guns were seized in a series of sweeping raids in the city of Jamestown that also resulted in seven arrests Friday.

The multi-agency investigations, which includes the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, led to the execution of search warrants at two properties earlier in the morning. The first — at 238 Forest Ave., a well-known location to police for drug-related activities — resulted in charges to 44-year-old Christine L. Dean, 58-year-old Scott E. Verrett and 61-year-old Dawn E. Dean.

Jamestown police said in a press release announcing the arrests that an investigation determined the Forest Avenue home was being used to sell crystal methamphetamine.

Members of the Jamestown SWAT team entered the property around 6 a.m. Friday after a search warrant was obtained, and once inside, officers reportedly found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and cash, Jamestown police said.

Christine Dean was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Dawn Dean and Verrett were both charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent or disabled person.

All three were taken to Jamestown City Jail to be arraigned.

Police have raided the Forest Avenue home on several occasions as part of an “ongoing investigation into the sale and trafficking of illegal narcotics in the Jamestown area,” JPD said in its release. When arrests have been made, it’s typically the result of many organizations working together, Capt. Robert Samuelson of the Jamestown Police Department said.

“That’s the whole point of the task force,” Samuelson told The Post-Journal. “You have officers from Jamestown, Ellicott, state police and now the FBI. We’ve got all these resources at our fingertips to help us. It’s a win-win.”

At 6:40 a.m. on Friday, SWAT members entered 22 Bassett St. after an investigation learned “the location was being used for the sales of illegal drugs,” police said in a statement. Inside, investigators reportedly found 21 grams of methamphetamine, cocaine, suboxone, drug paraphernalia and cash.

Charged were 38-year-old Stacie N. Yancer, 24-year-old Morgan N. Merrill-Larson and 26-year-old Dustin A. Newbree with third-, fifth- and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal use of drug paraphernalia. The trio were transported to jail to be arraigned.

Ellicott resident Tyler C. Anderson, 27, was taken into custody while walking his dog around 2:25 p.m. near his 2256 Willard St. Ext. home. Police after executed its search warrant on the property, at which time 58 grams of cocaine, 4 pounds of marijuana and 15 long guns were reportedly found. Due to prior convictions, Anderson was barred from owning firearms, Jamestown police said.

The Ellicott man was charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal possession of marijuana, criminal use of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He was arraigned in Jamestown City Court and scheduled to appear in Ellicott Town Court at a later date.

Federal charges on the gun possessions were pending, police said.

“This was just the result of several investigations all coming to a head at the same time,” Samuelson said of Friday’s drug seizures and arrests.
