Jamestown police have released the name of the city man killed in a fire early Thursday.

Patrick M. Reilly, 74, was pronounced dead after firefighters were summoned to his 21 Carey Place residence around 1:15 a.m. Lt. Tim Glenn of the Jamestown Fire Department said the fire likely started as the result of “several space heaters” placed near combustibles.

Crews found Reilly on the second floor of the residence; he was taken to UPMC Chautauqua WCA hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Firefighters were on scene until 7:30 a.m. Thursday. Off-shift personnel were called to assist dousing the blaze.
