Thanksgiving Edition To Be Published Wednesday

The Post-Journal’s biggest edition of the year — the Thanksgiving Day newspaper — will be available earlier than ever on the day before Thanksgiving at select retailers in the Jamestown area.

“We are very proud to be able to distribute this exciting edition earlier this year,” said Michael Bird, Post-Journal publisher. “This will let our readers get a jump on the holiday shopping season. Enjoy and happy holidays from The Post-Journal.”

The edition will be available by 5 p.m. Wednesday at the following local stores:

JAMESTOWN

All Jamestown 7-Eleven, CVS, Robo, Kwik Fill, Tops Friendly Markets, Rite Aid, Crosby’s and 575 convenience stores, Wegmans, Farm Fresh Foods, Walgreens, the Allen Street Grocery and vending machines located outside The Eatery Restaurant, The Post-Journal, Brigiotta’s, Burger King on Foote Avenue, Jones Memorial Health Center, UPMC WCA Hospital, Friendly’s Restaurant, AJ’s Texas Hots, Papa Joe’s Laundry and all Tim Hortons locations.

LAKEWOOD

Lake County Dairy, Don’s Car Wash, Kwik Fill, Wal-Mart, Lakewood Mobil, Dollar General, Starbucks Coffee, Rite Aid and Crosby’s as well as vending machines outside Davidson’s, the Lakewood Diner, Tim Hortons and Dean Restaurant.

FALCONER

Kwik Fill, CVS, Falconer Mobil, Lake County Dairy, Tops Market, Dollar General and the vending machine outside Kozy Korner Kleaning.

In addition to more than 22 inserts and money-saving advertisements, Thursday’s edition will include the start of The Post-Journal’s Christmas Savings of the Day promotion, our Best Gift Ideas insert and our full compliment of local news and sports offerings.

Printing the Thanksgiving Day edition early will allow Black Friday shoppers extra time to plan their Friday shopping trip. The Post-Journal’s production team has been receiving and storing the inserts over the past few weeks before they were compiled Friday evening so they can be made ready to insert into Thursday’s newspaper and delivered. The Nov. 23 edition will be printed Wednesday afternoon so that the paper can be delivered to stores Wednesday afternoon.

That means The Post-Journal will operate with earlier deadlines than for a typical edition. The deadline for classified advertisements is Tuesday while the deadline for obituaries is 1 p.m. Wednesday.
