Jamestown Man Receives State Prison Sentence
A Jamestown man has received a state prison sentence on an attempted murder conviction.
Isaiah Pearson, 21, of Jamestown, received a determinate sentence of eight years in state prison, plus five years of post-release supervision, for second-degree attempted murder and first-degree assault. He was also handed a determinate sentence of eight years in state prison, plus three years of post-release supervision for second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree burglary; and an indeterminate sentence of 1 1/3 to four years for fourth-degree grand larceny. The sentences run concurrently and were announced by Patrick Swanson, acting Chautauqua County district attorney, Monday afternoon.
A Chautauqua County Grandy Jury handed up a five-count indictment in November 2014 in connection to a shooting two months earlier near the Appleyard Terrace on East Second Street. The shooting injured one person, and police located Pearson three days later in Tennessee, extraditing him to Chautauqua County Jail.
Swanson announced several other sentences Monday afternoon.
Jahmaul Johnson, 42, of Dunkirk, received a determinate sentence of three years in state prison and three years of post-release supervision for third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Rachel Blanchard, 34, of Mayville, received an indeterminate sentence of 1 1/2 to three years in state prison for two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
Jonathan Axford, 41, of Jamestown, received an indeterminate sentence of 1 1/2 to three years in state prison for aggravated family offense.
Sara Tolbert, 28, of Mayville, received a determinate sentence of 1 1/2 years in state prison plus one year of post-release supervision for criminal possession of precursors of methamphetamine, and a determinate sentence of 1 1/2 years in state prison plus one year of post-release supervision for third-degree unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine.
