WESTFIELD – A 17-year-old Jamestown boy died at Children’s Hospital on Saturday night after a drowning accident.

Jan Carlos Delosantos-Nunez passed away shortly before 6 p.m. after being flown to Buffalo via Star Flight from Westfield Hospital earlier in the day.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office reported to Barcelona near Monroe Marina at 12:19 p.m. for a report of a possible drowning. Members of the county Dive Team located Delosantos-Nunez in the water and took him to shore. He was transported by Westfield Fire Department ambulance to Westfield Hospital.

The Westfield Police Department assisted at the scene.
