RANDOLPH -- The Randolph Central School District Board of Education celebrated employees, honoring decades of athletic leadership, newly achieved tenure and the appointment of new faculty and staff.

The first highlight of the evening was the presentation of a Board of Education Commendation to Coach Todd Conley, recognizing 29 years of service to Randolph athletics. Board President Julie Milliman expressed the district’s gratitude for Conley’s impact.

“Over nearly three decades, he has touched the lives of countless student-athletes through his leadership, commitment, and example,” Milliman said. “We are extremely grateful for all he has given to our school and our community. Coach Conley, thank you for your service and congratulations on this well-deserved recognition.”

Superintendent Dr. Kaine Kelly invited Conley to share a few words. Conley reflected on his time with the district, noting that his decision to step down was not easy but necessary for his family.

“It’s been an honor for me,” Conley said. “All the kids that trusted me to be their coach for all these years. You know, I’m going to miss it.”

He extended gratitude to his wife for her support while he was away coaching.

“She allowed me to have a career and do what I did. I couldn’t have done it without her,” he said, adding that his children also made sacrifices.

Conley closed by reflecting on a career filled with memories, including representing Randolph at the Times Union Center in Albany.

The board then formally welcomed seven members to the school district team. Milliman thanked the new hires for choosing to invest their talents in Randolph's schools, saying each brings valuable experience and commitment to serving students and families. The new personnel include speech-language pathologist Jacquelyn Bosworth, elementary teachers Ashley Carlson and Sophie Schweiger, art teacher Kirstie Smith, and teacher aides Lindsey Horton, Raven Osborne, and Torrey Smith.

Additionally, the board recognized five educators who earned tenure. Milliman recognized elementary teachers Jessica Cady and Maureen Smith, agriculture teacher Arissa Hitchcock, math teacher Kay McElwain, and special education teacher Carli Wright.

“We are proud to recognize the important milestone that reflects your dedication, professionalism, and commitment to our students and school,” Milliman said to the newly tenured teachers. “Thank you for the care, passion, and energy you bring to the classroom each day.”

Looking ahead, Kelly noted that School Board Recognition Week would take place Oct. 12-16, 2026. He expressed appreciation for the board members’ volunteer leadership, emphasizing that their steady guidance matters now more than ever during a time when public education faces unprecedented attention and pressure.

“You give your time, energy, and expertise to the important work of ensuring every student has the opportunity to receive a high-quality education and thrive,” Kelly said. “Through it all, you continue to put students at the center of the conversation and help move our district forward.”

Following the employee and board recognitions, the board proceeded with its regular meeting agenda, which included preliminary discussions on the 2027-28 district budget.
