FREWSBURG – Team Diversity will hold its next free event, a trunk-or-treat, in Frewsburg on Halloween.
"Our free community Trunk or Treat event will take place on Oct. 31 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Greg Mackie, Major Appliance," said Bethany Pigman, co-president and co-founder of Team Diversity. "The address is 60 West Main Street."
While everyone is welcome to the upcoming event, Pigman said there is something mesmerizing about watching children receive candy, and that synergy that happens when a community comes together is celebration.
"This event is truly for the kids. There is always something truly special about seeing a neighborhood come together, and that's what our upcoming community Trunk-or-Treat will prove. ... just that," she said. "This year’s event will be a vibrant celebration of creativity and fun all while in a safe, joyful space for our children; it reminds us of the strength we share as a community.
Pigman said that the trunk or treat event marks the next step in the club's commitment to offering free, community-focused programming and emphasized that the club will continue providing inclusive events in the near future. Additionally, while the event takes place outside of Jamestown, everyone is welcome to attend.
"This event is being held in Frewsburg," said Pigman. "But, hey, everyone is welcome. ...The more the merrier."
Team Diversity held a Hot Dogs for the Hungry program on Sept. 24 in Jamestown as part of their commitment to providing programs and services aimed at bridging the gap for those in need.
"The Hot Dogs for the Hungry event and now our Trunk or Treat event are our way of staying true to our club’s mission and our club goals," she said.
Pigman said that the club has four goals it is working towards. Team Diversity aims to host multiple events to foster community engagement; pursue formal organization as a nonprofit entity; open a prehab and rehabilitation center in Jamestown; and assist individuals with their transition following rehabilitation.
