Sales include property for church, land near camp

A church in Northern Chautauqua County has purchased property to build a new location.
The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from Aug. 3-7. The county does not provide transaction information, but real estate documents are available for review at the clerk's office.
During this time period, Gospel Church Co. of Fredonia purchased 3621 East Main Road, Pomfret for $275,000.
Gospel Church is currently located at 45 Lakeview Ave., Fredonia. On the church's website, it notes that it has purchased the East Main Road property for a future "legacy project," adding this will be the location of their future home.
The website does not provide a timeline, although it appears the church has shared that information with their members during a Sunday service.
Also during this time period, Bethany Camp, Inc. purchased 17 acres on Bates Road, Ellington for $75,000. This parcel borders their camp property.
From Aug. 3-7, there were three sales that were $300,000 or higher. They are as follows:
- 83 Center St., Bemus Point sold for $631,000.
- 2729 Willow Ave., Ellicott sold for $549,000.
- 1994 Shaw Rd., Arkwright sold for $435,000.
