Pet-friendly fun, safety a focus at Pet Expo 2026

Pet-friendly fun and a focus on safety are part of the upcoming Pet Expo 2026 hosted by the Chautauqua County Humane Society and sponsored by Supportive Divorce Solutions and Happy Hounds Hotel & Day Spa,

Pet Expo 2026 is Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Northwest Arena with a priority placed on creating a safe, healthy and pet‑friendly environment for every animal (and human) who attends. The expo welcomes family pets, and again this year, organizers are taking additional steps to ensure that visiting animals can enjoy the day comfortably, safely and with plenty of support.

Guests can explore vendors, meet adoptable pets, learn from local rescues, and take part in hands‑on educational experiences. Tickets are $10, available now at chqhumane.org, and will also be sold at the door. All proceeds benefit animals in the county helped through the Humane Society.

To support pet safety, CCHS is implementing health‑minded practices throughout the venue.

"We are committed to maintaining a clean, controlled environment. Visiting dogs should be current on vaccinations, and families are encouraged to bring pets who are comfortable in public settings," Humane Society officials said in a news release.

Inside the arena, guests will find designated calm‑down spaces for dogs who become overstimulated, clearly marked bathroom areas, and staff and volunteers stationed throughout the venue to help monitor interactions and ensure that all pets, and people, feel secure. Team members will be present to make sure that every guest, no matter how many legs they have, enjoys the day. Chris Duckett's Wild Creatures is taking part in the expo this year.

CCHS Pet Expo '26 will be held Saturday, October 17, from 12-4 p.m. at Northwest Arena. The Post-Journal is a media sponsor of the event.
