The McClenathan Brothers will perform Friday at First Covenant Church as the Jamestown Jazz Concert Series continues.
The performance starts at 6:30 p.m. and will be hosted by John Cross, an area saxophone player.
After devoting a quarter century to the Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, N.H., as house entertainers, Michael and Todd McClenathan have returned to their roots in Chautauqua County to retire and enjoy the myriad of cultural offerings found in the region.
The twins developed their musical aptitudes at the State University at Fredonia. After college, the twins could be found performing with groups such as Pegasus, Apex and Body Heat throughout Western New York. The McClenathan Brothers slimmed down to a duo and hit the road booking gigs at numerous hotels and resorts throughout the east and midwest before landing a lengthy stay in the White Mountains.
Outside of nightclub appearances, McClenathan Brothers other pursuits have been in writing and recording music and shows – among them their LP, "In Our Lovetime", their oft-programmed radio release of the seasonal favorite, "This Christmas", as well as a collaboration with their father on the original musical comedy, "Peck's Bad Boy" which had its premier in Jamestown in 1979 featuring the Shoestring Players.
Honoring the great songbook jazz standards of the past has been the mainstay of the McClenathan Brothers. Featured vocalist will be Barbara McClenathan.
The concert is free and open to the public.
