In celebration of its 75th anniversary -- a Diamond Jubilee year -- the Marvin Community House will host its all-season fundraiser fashion show, presented in partnership with GG My Love of Chautauqua Institution, at the historic Marvin House, 2 W. Fifth St., Jamestown.

The show is an evening showcasing classic, wearable wardrobe staples that transition through every season. The evening will also feature a special GG My Love Pop-Up Shop, giving guests an opportunity to browse and purchase fashions and accessories featured in the show. A portion of the proceeds from the pop-up shop will benefit the Marvin Community House.

Wine and light refreshments will be served throughout the evening.

The fashion show is part of the Marvin House's year-long Diamond Jubilee celebration, marking 75 years as a women's organization in Chautauqua County.

The story of the Marvin House began with Elizabeth Warner Marvin, a woman who understood the importance of providing women with a place to gather, learn, share ideas, and pursue their interests. Mrs. Marvin was actively involved in literary, musical, educational, patriotic, scientific and historical organizations during her lifetime. In her will, she envisioned her home becoming a meeting place and headquarters for women's organizations dedicated to the enrichment and advancement of women.

Following her death in 1950, the women of Jamestown carried her vision forward. In 1951, the Elizabeth Warner Marvin Community House was established, and 400 women became charter members. For 75 years, the Marvin House has continued that legacy by providing a welcoming place where women and the broader community can gather for educational programs, cultural enrichment, music, social connection, community activities and meaningful conversation.

Today, the Marvin House's mission continues to reflect Elizabeth Warner Marvin's belief in the power of women supporting women.

"Elizabeth Warner Marvin envisioned this house as a place where women could come together and enrich one another's lives," said Kathleen McGough Johnson, Marvin House president. "Seventy-five years later, that vision is still alive. Every gathering, program and partnership helps us carry her legacy forward."

Seating is limited and is $15 at the door. Reservations can be made by calling 716-488-6206 or email Marvinhouse@marvinhouse.com.
