2 min read

Representatives of the Jamestown and Lakewood-Busti Democratic committees will hold the grand opening of their south county headquarters at 19 E. Third St., Jamestown, at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2.

They'll be joined by Aaron Gies, Democratic and Working Families Party candidate for Congress from New York's 23rd district. Gies' campaign will share the Jamestown headquarters. The event will feature a ribbon cutting, refreshments, and remarks from Gies and other candidates.

"We're thrilled to collaborate with the Gies campaign on establishing this Jamestown headquarters," said Tom Nelson, Jamestown Democratic Committee chair. "He's a great candidate at the top of the ticket in this election and our local and county-wide candidates are dedicated to supporting a strong, unified slate of candidates."

There are 15 Democratic candidates running for county legislature this year, as well as Victoria Guite-Williams, candidate for state senator, Tom Carle, candidate for state Assembly, Alexandria Moss, candidate for Family Court Judge, and State Supreme Court candidates Anne Joynt and Craig Bucki.

The headquarters will be open to the public from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays through Nov. 2. Volunteers will be on hand to answer voters' questions and offer literature and lawn signs for candidates.

Election Day is Nov. 3 and early voting is from Oct. 24 through Nov. 1.
