Unique Evening: Marvin House to host ‘Mystery at the Marvin’ Oct. 3-4

Guests will have the opportunity to take part in the upcoming Elizabeth Warner Marvin Community House presentation of "Mystery at the Marvin," an original, interactive mystery experience at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 3-4, at the historic home at 2 W. Fifth St., Jamestown.
Presented as part of the Marvin House's celebration of its 75th anniversary, guests will become part of the action as a cast of performers recreates the atmosphere of a 1951 live radio broadcast, complete with music, commercial announcements, and an episode of a continuing mystery saga.
The radio broadcast is only part of the story.
Clues, surprises and intrigue will unfold throughout the Marvin House before, during and after the broadcast, giving audience members the opportunity to watch closely, listen carefully and piece together the details. By the end of the evening, guests will be challenged to put the clues together and see if they can unravel the mystery.
The production brings together a cast of performers, including several individuals with experience in some of the longest-running mystery productions in the Jamestown area, along with performers with extensive theatrical backgrounds.
Nelson Garifi will take on the role of chief inspector, joined by Jade Barber, Emily Blackwood, Karen Piazza Buck, David Niles, Julia Niles, Steve Riczker and Dennis Webster, with Cathy Gagliano serving as accompanist.
"We're delighted to host this mystery as part of a series of events celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Marvin House," said Kathleen McGough Johnson, Marvin House president. "The Marvin House is a well-respected community landmark and gathering place, and we're hoping this event will encourage guests to explore the building and its history while enjoying a unique evening of entertainment."
The historic setting will add to the atmosphere, transporting guests to another era as they experience the sights, sounds and spirit of 1951 while exploring the rooms and history of this remarkable Jamestown landmark.
Admission is $35 per person, which includes beverages and hors d'oeuvres. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited, and reservations are required. Pre-payment is preferred.
