Sinclairville History Fair set for Saturday

SINCLAIRVILLE - History will be celebrated once again in Sinclairville on Saturday.

On Saturday, the Valley Historical Society and the village of Sinclairville will be hosting the 27th annual History Fair in the center of the village. The day begins at 7 a.m. with breakfast at the Sinclairville Fire Hall put on by the Sinclairville '76ers. Breakfast will be served until 9:30 a.m. A memorial service will take place at 9:45 a.m. at the Valley History Museum.

Following that at 10 a.m. is the grand parade, which begins at Sinclairville Elementary School and goes to the center of the village. Anyone is welcome to join in. For more information or to register, call Victoria Goodwill at 716-499-9525.

After the parade until 5 p.m. will be a craft show farmer's market. Crafters and others who would like to participate are asked to call Tracy MacDonald at 716-673-5526 to reserve a space. Antique tractors, classic cars, trucks and motorcycles will be on display from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Main Street lot. At 2 p.m. there will be a guided historic tour of the Evergreen Cemetery. There will also be horse drawn wagon rides throughout the day.

At the library from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. will be the Erie Zoo Traveling Outreach Program. Then from 1-3 p.m. local authors will be on hand. There will also be face painting as well.

Activities will also take place at the fire hall. At 11 a.m. there will be both Grandma's Fruit Pie Contest and the Beautiful Baby Contest.

After those contests, at the fire hall will be an all-breeds dog show at 1 p.m. sponsored by Purina.

A bounce house, along with fun games, will be available for children at the Samaritan House.

There will be music throughout the day. From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Scroggins will perform in the Bandstand. Then from 1 to 4 p.m. Rustic Ramblers will be performing in the tent on Church Street. From 5 to 9 p.m. there will be a street dance in the tent with DJ Dragon Fire.

To close out the day, at 9 p.m. there will be fireworks.
