After a group of local radio stations were sold this spring, the building and properties that they operate out of were officially sold over the summer.
The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from July 8-13. The county does not provide transaction information, but real estate documents are available for review at the clerk's office.
During this time period, Jamestown Holdings, LLC sold a parcel on Jones & Gifford Avenue, Jamestown, and 500 Orchard Road, Ellicott to Glenora Radio Network, LLC for $550,000.
The website radioinsight.com reported in December that Lilly Broadcasting was acquiring James Embrescia's Media One Group's properties in Ashtabula, Ohio and Jamestown, N.Y. for $4 million.
Lilly, which owns television stations in Erie Pa., Elmira N.Y., Marquette, Mich., Puerto Rico, The Virgin Islands, and Guam, also owns CHR "Happi 92.7" WICU-FM Erie and three stations in Warren Pa.: WICU-FM simulcaster 1310 WICU/96.7 W244DY, Oldies "92 Gold" WRRN-FM, and "104.3 Kinzua Country" WNAE-FM Clarendon.
Radioinsight.com, which is "dedicated to providing radio industry news and information," reported that the Media One properties would operate under the name Glenora Radio Network.
The local stations in the $4 million sale included Hot Adult Contemporary "SE 93" WWSE Jamestown, "My Country 101.9" WHUG Jamestown, "Rock 103" WQFX-FM Russell PA, "Kissin Oldies 106.9" WKZA Lakewood, Talk/AC 1240 WJTA/101.3 W267CN Jamestown, and Standards "Legends 1340" WKSN Jamestown.
According to Glenora Radio Network's website, the sale was completed in mid-May.
The property sales officially cleared July 10.
Including the sale previously mentioned, from July 8-13 there were five sales that were $300,000 or higher. The remaining top sales are as follows:
- 2714 Cove Circle East, North Harmony sold for $612,714.
- 1103 West Third St., Jamestown sold for $385,000.
- 4934 Bayview Rd., Ellery sold for $325,000.
- 912 Hunt Rd., Busti sold for $315,000.
