FALCONER – The next public workshop to help decide how Falconer's $4.5 million NY Forward grant will be spent will be held Sept. 17.
The village is in the midst of a public process that will result in a plan to spend the state grant. Falconer officials are seeking input from residents, businesses owners and others that can be used to help revitalize downtown Falconer. The first of two public workshops have been scheduled as part of the Falconer NY Forward planning process to gather feedback on challenges and opportunities in the community as well as the types of revitalization projects residents would like to see in Falconer.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend the Falconer NY Forward public workshop from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Falconer Volunteer Fire Department, 115 Davis St., Falconer. The workshop will begin with a short presentation, providing an overview of the NY Forward program and the steps in the planning process. Following the presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to participate in several planning exercises to gather input and feedback about the community. For those unable to attend there will be an online feedback form available following the event that will mirror the exercises at the workshop, as well as a public survey to provide additional input about the community. For more information on the Village of Falconer NY Forward program and to access the online feedback form and public survey, visit www.FalconerNYForward.com.
Additionally, as part of the Falconer NY Forward Open Call for Projects, the consultant team will be available for "Coffee with Consultants" on Sept. 17 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Falconer Public Library, 101 .W Main St., Falconer. "Coffee with Consultants" is an opportunity for potential project sponsors and others to have one-on-one informal conversations with the consultant team where they can discuss project ideas and seek assistance with applying. Participants can ask questions about project eligibility, the Open Call for Projects Form, developing project budgets, requesting NY Forward and other funding, grant requirements, the process and timeline for NY Forward funding decisions, and next steps.
