The Northwest Arena will play host to 16 boxing matches on Saturday.
The event, titled “Rumble at the Areas 3: No Mercy” begins at 3 p.m. with doors opening at 2 p.m.
"We have about 16 fights scheduled to happen," said Chip Swanson, local boxing coach and trainer. "There will be fighters from Rochester, Buffalo, and other New York cities, along with some from Ohio and Pennsylvania – fighting here."
Swanson said that the fight program is family-friendly and fan-friendly.
"There will be food and drinks for sale at the event," he said. "This is a chance to come out, socialize, and watch some good fights. ...maybe check out some up-and-coming fighters."
A local boxing club is organizing and sponsoring this fight card and, according to Swanson, has produced some talented boxers.
"The event is organized and sponsored by Top Level Boxing Club," Swanson stated. "This club is our local boxing gym and produces high-quality, top-level fighters – who have gone on to become professional boxers."
