RANDOLPH – Harry and Cathy Uhl will host their fifth annual "A Gathering in the Barn" on Saturday, Sept. 12, in their mid-1800s barn at 2467 Vollentine Road, Randolph.
The fifth annual free night of praise, worship and fellowship will kick off at 6 p.m. with supper.
Each year the event is similar, but different than the year before. The evening consists of a variety of musicians and vocalists performing inspirational music. Brief uplifting messages, each brought by a different speaker, and testimonies are interspersed throughout. Although patriotism always plays a role in the evening, due to the nation's 250th birthday, there will be a bigger focus on it than in the past.
The first gathering took place during the summer of 2022 when the Uhls wanted to use their barn to uplift people following two years COVID-19 quarantines, shut-downs and school closings. Their idea was to open their barn to the public for an evening of praise and patriotic music and food.
More than 160 people, young and old from locations including Springville, Warren, Ripley and Salamanca, attended last year's affair.
