Three Warren teens have been charged after allegedly squatting in a Conewango Avenue home.

Aaron J. McMillen, 19, Akia Markham, 18, and Aubree S. Edwards, 19, all of Warren, were charged with first-degree felony burglary – overnight accommodation, no person present, third-degree felony criminal trespass – entering structure, and criminal mischief – damaging property on Monday after warrants were issued for their arrest. All three had left the home before police were able to respond. Bail was set at $5,000 by Magisterial District Judge Raymond Zydonik.

McMillan is listed in the Affidavit of Probable Cause as homeless while Markham is listed as living in foster care. There was also allegedly a fourth, unnamed person in the home when police arrived, but only three people were charged. Police said they believe the teens had been in the home for several days.

Warren police officers were dispatched to the home on Aug. 12 after speaking with a woman who said she had been checking on one of her properties and found several people inside.

“The victim advised that she had not given permission to any of the persons found in the private residence and was not sure how they got into the residence,” the Affidavit of Probable Cause states.

The officer and the property owner said they found a window air conditioner unit that had been removed from a window and allowed the teens to get into the home. Police said the teens allegedly emptied the contents of the refrigerator and freezer inside the home, causing all the contents to spoil.

“Your affiant did see that the defendant and co-defendant had mail left at the address, along with other articles of clothing and personal belongings that showed that they had been there for some time,” the officer said in the affidavit.
